Chanel Fall 2013 Stylo Yeux Waterproof in Khaki Précieux Eyeliner Review, Photos, Swatches, Comparisons

My first purchase from the Chanel Fall 2013 Superstition collection was the Alchemie Le Vernis, but today I will share with you the Khaki Précieux 104 Long-Lasting Eyeliner Pencil. If you like a quick yet feminine eye look, this is a must-read. View the swatches and comparisons after the jump!

The Stylo Yeux Waterproof formula is hit or miss for me. I also only ever purchase the metallic or shimmery shades, since the solid cream browns and black pencils smudge too easily on my lids. Khaki Précieux is very smooth metallic that does not pull or skip. Those who prefer the softly blended eyeliner look will have a minute or two to blend out before the creaminess sets for all-day wear. I found that Khaki Précieux wore true-to-color for 6 hours before fading (without primer on normal lids).

I wear the majority of my Stylo Yeux Waterproof pencils exclusively on my lower lash lines, but Khaki Précieux looks very chic on the upper lash line as well. Though the sparkle is visible, the shade nearly blends into my warm skin tone and creates a brightening yet natural eyeliner look. I like to wear it alone and wing it out as I normally do. It is a very appropriate shade for Summer and Fall, but I suspect I will reach for this one year-round.

None of the gold pencils in my collection are as antique in finish, but I included all the brassy, murky, mossy greenish-gold pencil eyeliners I could find. The shimmer in Urban Decay's Stash is most reminiscent of Khaki Précieux's. The base shades, however, are completely different. Khaki Préieux is similar to Lancome's discontinued Gold Passion Wateproof Artliner (not included in the swatches due to its unavailability and also because it is not in pencil form)

This is a permanent addition, meaning there is no rush to the counter to pick it up.. but why would you wait on a color this unique? You can find it at Nordstrom.

Bottom Line: Khaki Précieux is worth the $30 USD price tag.
