Chanel Le Vernis in Azure 657 Nail Polish Review, Photos, Swatches, Color Comparisons

My first Chanel Summer 2013 makeup collection review post is dedicated to the lovely Azure. This is as much a review as it is a comparison post, so please enjoy!

I am a sucker for green nail polish. As soon as I saw the Chanel Summer 2013 press release photographs, I fell head over heels for the Azure Le Vernis. It is much less green and far more turquoise in comparison to the stock pictures, but Azure ($27 USD) did not fail to impress. See more photos after the jump!

Luminous Skin and Fresh Color for Spring 2013 Makeup Tutorial Details

I mixed things up a bit with this Spring makeup tutorial. First of all, I used short but dense lashes. That hasn't happened in ages because I am dedicated to BIG false lashes! Then I decided on a dolly blush effect with juicy pink lips and of course, a clean canvas of luminous skin. As much as I love the matte and bronzed skin look, I find that the luminous skin look is more appropriate for Spring weather. The eyes contributed to the fresh element of the makeup up with a warm, but light, range of shades from the latest Chanel Hong Kong Collection. We hope you enjoy the look and the photos!

Chanel L'Ete Papillon de Chanel Collection for Summer 2013 Review, Photos, Swatches, Comparisons

Let us welcome the Chanel's newest release, the Summer 2013 makeup collection! The dazzling colours of butterfly wings inspire a joyful look for Summer, with the enchanting collection L’ÉTÉ PAPILLON DE CHANEL. Creative Director of CHANEL Makeup Peter Philips envisions electric shades of gold, pink and platinum to set eyelids aglow, with lashes fluttering in whimsical aqua, lime and blue hues. Crisp peach and bright raspberry grace the lips, while nails finish the fleeting mood in glimmering shades of intense coral, deep blue-green and heavenly blue.

I spent the morning swatching nearly the entire collection. I had previously purchased two of the nail polishes and one of the glossimers at Macy's South Coast Plaza, so those individual reviews should be posted next week. The display below was missing the Zephyr Glossimer, the beige with shimmer, but I am positive it swatches sheerly because I took a look at it when I purchased my nail polishes. I will wait for the collection to arrive at my local Nordstrom and purchase the eyeshadow pens then, in order to collect points on my purchases.. I simply couldn't wait on Bel-argus and Azure! Tom Ford Beauty Summer 2013 Collection -- Complete Look Book Photos and Product Details

For Summer 2013, Tom Ford introduces a seasonal color collection that captures the luminous and sensuous effect of bronzed skin. This limited edition collection features the new Tom Ford Skin Illuminator, the Tom Ford Illuminating Cheek Color, and a harmony of shimmery and sheer shades for the eyes, lips and nails. The face and cheeks are illuminated with peach-pink and bronzed amber; eyes are dewy and mesmerizing with delicate tones of pale pink and nude peach; nails are given a pearlized wash of white, and lips are lacquered in shimmery golden pink pearls.

It is effortlessly chic, with focused color to enhance sun-kissed skin. I personally cannot wait to try the skin illuminator, since I rarely wear tinted liquid highlighters. I am anticipating to be swept off my feet, as per usual. Will it pair harmoniously with his Illuminating Pens? Stay tuned to find out!

My Favorite False Eyelashes Review/Demos + GIVEAWAY TIME!

I am a liner and lashes kinda gal.. I know the look isn't for everyone, but I think the look is timeless. That is why I am finally sitting down to share my favorite false eyelash styles with you! I have tried dozens from drugstore brands and luxury brands, but these reviewed are the ones that I consistently repurchase and reach for the most. Though my House of Lashes styles are brand new, and I have definitely not worn them nearly as much as any of the other lashes shown in this video, I know the Temptress will be my new tried & true for long flared looks since the full-sized Ardell Wispies have changed since I first bought them years ago. Now, enough ramble.. let's get straight into it!

It was so nice to have help with photos for once, since fashion photos are really difficult to shoot on my own, and the lovely little lady Kristine helped me touch up my makeup as we shot the looks! I put the looks together, so I hope you enjoyed seeing a trendier side to my wardrobe since I'm more often than not dressed in lululemon athletica work out wear these days!

And as promised, here are the Sneak Peek photos for Tom Ford Summer '13. I will have the rest of the images and other details for the rest of the collection posted on Monday! Isn't the look on the model below simply gorgeous? I love how bronzed yet refined it is. I've had a lot of fun with Lancome Spring Color, so the golds and pinks here are looking quite palatable, especially because I prefer low maintenance makeup in the summer!

Above is Tom Ford's Cream Color for Eyes in Escapade. I am so happy to see TF has decided to bring this formula back! I wish they woud make a permanent range of these beautiful cream shadows because they are so incredibly easy to use. I constantly reach for last Spring's Platinum, but I've barely made a dent. Great bang for your buck product! Again, more product photos and information will be posted here on the blog on Monday :)

Lancome in Love Spring 2013 Makeup Collection Review, Photos, Swatches + MAKEUP TUTORIAL

Lancome's Spring 2013 Lancome in Love Collection swept me off my feet. It is eyeliner heaven, so I concocted this very bright peacock-themed eye look to show off how worthwhile the products are! I could not resist showing them in action after raving about the chocolate shade in my last several videos.  The overall look is still wearable, but I think the whimsy of it is what makes it so fun to apply. Of course, you do not have to use all the colors at once, but my tutorials are really intended to demonstrate products in action. Granted, I love the look and hope you will give it a try!

Makeup Used in Tutorial:
Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H Liquid Foundation in 320W Bisque with Beauty Blender Sponge
Tom Ford Illuminating Highlighter Pen in Naked Bique [Click to see my full REVIEW HERE]
Tom Ford Traceless Foundation Stick in 03 as a spot concealer
Lancome Fragrance Free Dual Finish Setting Powder with Sigma Duo Fibre Brush
Cle de Peau Eyebrow Pencil with 204 Natural Grey cartridge
Armani Silk Eyes to Kill Shadow in 09
Burberry Sheer Eye Shadow in Dark Sable with MAC 239 Brush
Lancome Kohl in Love in Jade Crush, Chocolate Affair, Deepwater Blue
Lancome Color Design Infinite 24h in Tremendous Turquoise, Boundless Blue
Lancome Hypnose Drama WP Mascara with Red Cherry False Lashes in 747M
Tarte Amazonian Clay WP Bronzer with [D/Ced] Dior Blush brush
Lancome Baume in Love in 100 Rose in Love
OCC Lip Tar in Annika with Chanel Lip Brush
Laura Mercier Lip Shine in Naked Apricot

Essie Your Hut Or Mine
Deborah Lippman Candy Shop glitter

Theory Len Tubular

And yes, that is the Deepwater Blue liner worn alone.. NO additional products were used to achieve that vibrant peacock blue on my upper lash line!

Lancome in Love Spring '13  Makeup Collection Review -- Product Breakdowns

Now I will take you through the entire collection and share my thoughts!

Lancome Blush in Love ($49) in Peche and Pommettes: I passed on both of these blushes because I have not been wearing much blush at all in the last year. I have plenty of Lancome blushes that I love, but if you like the packaging, then I would definitely recommend the peach shade. It's smooth, soft, and blends better than the pink shade.

Lancome Baume in Love ($25) in Rose in Love 100 has already been reviewed HERE. I also purchased Urban Ballet recently, and I love them both. Rose in Love is perfect for no-makeup days, while Urban Ballet brightens up my lips with a juicy looking bright pink. Urban Ballet requires about three swipes, layered up, for its full color impact. Coral Electric does give my lips a peach tint, but I might go back for Midnight Rose because it had a punch of red. I haven't made up my mind yet, which is why I have yet to review Urban Ballet. The more I wear Urban Ballet, the more I love it! My swatches aren't very good due to the yellow-tinged department store lighting, but these should definitely be tried on because the color seen on your lips will be dependent on how pigmented your bare pucker is.

Lancome Vernis in Love ($15) in Peach Melodie and Midnight Rose were shown in the video. This photo highlights the purple shade, opposite of the video's photo, though both were photographed after three days of wear. I do not have Rose Macaron or Sugar Rose, but they are lovely pinks. I find that the Lancome nail polish brush is one of the best for my narrow nail beds! I always wear my Vernis with Butter London's Hardware top coat and I usually get a week without chips.

Lancome Kohl in Love ($25.50) eye liner pencils are my favorites for the price. The Armani WP Smooth Silk pencils, $28, are more fluid on initial application, and the creaminess of the formula allows for more blending and shaping before they set. The black is super inky, which is great for dramatic looks. These Lancome Kohls, however, are so fun! I have never encountered blue pencil liners done so well (in terms of pigmentation and vibrance) and the chocolate shade works with any daily look. They set within ten seconds, and they last surprisingly just as well as Armani's pencils on the waterlines. I will definitely hunt down back ups of all three.

Lancome Color Design Infinite 24h ($24.50) in Boundless Blue and Tremendous Turquoise were the best of the 6 released this spring, in my opinion. I also liked the look of the Evermore Lilac, but I have done a Lancome tutorial from several Springs ago that had a heavy focus on purple so I wanted to switch things up. As stated in the video review, the formula is not quite as soft or silky as Armani's Silk shadows, but I love the color range. It is more cheery, and the metallic finish makes a statement without being obnoxious. I will try more of these in the future.

Lancome In Love Dewy Mist ($37) is a setting spray with essential oils. It is unfortunately quite expensive, and I can see why, since it is a light spray bottle version of Hourglass' No. 28 primer. Both are great for dry skin, and I love how hydrating it is. Oily skins, stay away from this because it will make you look like a grease ball within an hour. But it is the perfect "refresh" remedy for dry skin woes, so light yet effective! If you have dry skin, do keep in mind the most effective creams and oils are not necessarily the heaviest :)

Recommendations -- The stars of the show are positively the Kohl in Love liners! The Baume in Love lipbalms if you are a lip balm addict. Color Designs for pastel lovers.
