Fall 2014 Fashion, Hair + Makeup Haul

August has been the most exciting yet intense month of my life! My no-longer little Australian shepherd puppy is growing taller and longer by the day, and I have been so busy with work that I haven't been sleeping or eating well. To remedy this unfortunate health crisis, I embarked on my first official juice cleanse to clear out my digestive tract and 'reset' my body. I love juice and it has been quite effective thus far, but the second day was pretty awful. I was sluggish, cranky, and craving pizza every waking minute! This, of course, called for a bit of extra shopping. And while not all of my acquisitions made it into this video (of course my Tom Ford Fall order arrives the day after I film), I am happy to share some wonderful new goodies with you!

So many of you asked me for a Cle de Peau 201 lipstick dupe that I made it a mission to find a similar color. Koh Gen Do's new Fall Lipstick in BE04 is as close at it gets in terms of finish, texture and shade. It's also a lot more affordable, so give it a whirl and let me know what you think! I know most of you are waiting in anticipation for my Tom Ford Fall 2014 Review + Tutorial, so I promise I will have it posted late next week. I just received all my purchases from Neiman Marcus today, which means it is time to photograph and swatch NUDE DIP! If you are interested in the TF eyeshadow palette, call any Neiman Marcus store and have them ship it to you from a store since it sold out online within a day. Good luck! xo

Dior Fall 2014 '5 Couleurs' Eyeshadow Palettes in Pied de Poule and Tutu + Vernis Gel in Pied de Poule and Carre Bleu

Dior's Fall collections never fail to impress me. Now available at Nordstrom, the newly repackaged and reformulated eyeshadow quints come in five different colorways, all reinvented to achieve multi-faceted looks. The matte, satin, iridescent, and ultra-shimmery eyeshadow formulas are intended to create varying effects to suit any occasion. 876 Tralfagar seems to be the running favorite thus far, but I will be featuring my top two picks after the jump!

Shu Uemura Fall 2014 Brave Beauty Collection Review, Photos, Tutorial

I love the concept of this Brave Beauty campaign. In my opinion, brave beauty is all about assertiveness. Some colors and trends can be intimidating, but researching, practicing, and wearing any look of your choice with confidence makes all the difference! Branch out and experiment. Makeup is about reinventing yourself just as much as it is about embracing/enhancing your features, so try to relax and have fun! More photos and individual product breakdowns after the jump!

Equitance Brightening Serum & Spot Corrector Review, Photos

The Equitance Brightening Serum & Spot Corrector ($125 USD, 1.0 fl. oz.) is the brand's crown jewel. It has been clinically proven to improve the appareance of discoloration and uneven skin tone and was even named "a top 10 dark spot corrector" by Harper's Bazaar! This serum formula targets the appearance of hyperpigmentation and dark discoloration to restore luminous and bright skin. Intrigued yet? More details after the jump!

Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream Review and Photos

Marc Jacobs has released a new member of the iconic Daisy family, and it captured my imagination as soon as I laid eyes on the lovely studded bottle! Daisy Dream is a light and ethereal fragrance. It is a fruity-floral scent that is ideal for day wear since it is feminine yet airy, which is why I have been wearing it diligently this summer. The fresh elegance of the blackberry and white woods combination is utterly irresistible and truly dreamy. I also love that Marc Jacobs embodied the dream theme in all aspects, even creating a Daisy Dream microsite dedicated to encouraging the dreamer in all of us.

My Daisy Dream Capsule
While creating a dream capsule, I was reminded of my own personal goals to travel and explore the world. It rejuvenated my aspirations to visit the south of France to run through the endless rows of blooming flowers and to visit the opposite end of the world to watch a concert on the water in Sydney, Australia. Help your dreams come to life by curating your own dream capsule here, and upon creation and submission, enter the Marc Jacobs Dream Daisy sweepstakes! There are weekly prizes of Marc Jacobs fragrances, accessories and of course, the grand prize — a Marc Jacobs experience of a lifetime.

P.S. To capture the spirit of the fragrance in music, Marc Jacobs curated this Pandora play list and titled it Daisy Dream! I love to listen to it in the evenings when my work day is winding down.

I have discovered so many Holy Grail products while wandering through the Nordstrom beauty department. The Rouge Dior lipstick is one of those unexpected finds. I had been hesitant to try this updated formula, because a couple years ago, the signature Dior formula was waxy and heavy. No longer is that the case! Get Ready With Me | Glamorous Weekend Edition feat. makeup inspired by Blake Lively

This is the first of my Get Ready with Me series, and I hope you'll be pleased by the inspiration from celebrity style icon Blake Lively! It is a slightly different take on the standard GRWM video, but I did my best to stay true to the concept by showing the complete makeup tutorial along with styled hair and an outfit. I love Blake Lively's effortless, chic perspective, so when I saw the Gucci Premiere Eau de Toilette campaign photos and videos that I had to attempt a recreation! I hope you'll enjoy the glamorous, sweeping views of Los Angeles from the famed Griffith Observatory, shot by the ever lovely and creative Kassia Phoy. xo

TOP 3 I My Holy Grail Toners

I love toners. Some women think toner is an unnecessary step, but it has always made a world of a difference in my skin's condition. Many cleansers leave my skin feeling parched and others leave traces of makeup behind, so toners have become an essential step in my skin care routine. Toning lotions rebalance the pH levels and prep my skin for treatments. Note: Just keep in mind that toners must be applied with cotton pads to properly remove makeup residue and gently lift away dull or dead skin cells. Now check out the break down of my favorite three toners after the jump!

Kevyn Aucoin The Loose Shimmer Shadow Review, Photos, Swatches [7 SHADES]

The Kevyn Aucoin Loose Shimmer Shadow ($29 USD each) is the only loose eyeshadow formula that I will use. I love the unique shade selection and how the colors glimmer as they catch light. These shadows are finely milled, so they will never look glittery or heavy on the lids. The consistency is feather-light, but the colors have so much impact because of the pearlescent pigments, which is why I am addicted to these Loose Shimmer Shadows! Check out the gorgeous swatches after the jump!

FAVORITES: July 2014 + NEW Hair Cut and Color by Guy Tang!

June was all about transitions! I was busy traveling and settling into my new place, and you can see I recently went from jet black to sultry red hair. After 9 months of waiting, I finally was able to see Guy Tang to have my hair cut and colored. He is a hair magician with so much confidence and personality! I also truly appreciated how knowledgable he is about the chemistry of color, and even though it required 7 hours to accomplish this red tone, I am pleased beyond measure! I know many of you adore my low-maintenance black hair, but I wanted to branch out and try something different. This red is a mixture of permanent and semi-permanent color with a pure pigment coating, so it is truly unique and dramatic without being obnoxious. It reads darker and edgy on camera, but in white light or full sunlight, it transforms into a bright ruby red! I will be sure to update you with hair color maintenance tips and best practices as well, since I have received many requests for it after revealing this new 'do.

Also, please forgive me if I seem a little hyper in the video. I had to film at midnight and drank iced coffee prior to perk me up since I have been so sleep deprived this week, but I think it worked a little too well! That's why I try to stick to tea ♡ Please enjoy and happy shopping!

Sisley Black Rose Precious Face Oil Review, Photos + Giveaway

If a celebrated makeup artist like Charlotte Tilbury keeps Sisley's Black Rose Cream Mask in her arsenal, it must live up to its legendary reputation. As much as I love the way the velvety mask revives my dehydrated skin, I have been enjoying the new Sisley Black Rose Precious Face Oil even more! This nourishing anti-aging formula is a magic one-step potion, which is ideal for evenings when I have absolutely no energy for my usual skin care regimen (which seems to be the norm these days). I have used this dry oil diligently for the last week and have since fallen in love!

ON THE GO: Summer Beauty + Lifestyle Essentials

This summer has hectic with travel and shoots, so I have been enjoying any and every minute to relax and enjoy the little things. Still, I figured this would be the perfect time to take a moment to share what beauty products I have been loving as well as some new I discoveries found along the way.

I always travel with my Tatcha Soothing Silk Hand Cream. You never know when you'll have to shake someone's hand when introducing yourself! It keeps my neglected cuticles from looking too dry, and it truly hydrates without making my hands feeling greasy. The Soothing Silk Hand Cream has a pale blue tint to it, but rest assured, it blends into the skin like any other translucent lotion and leaves no color residue.

A recent discovery is the Ivory Lashes brand. I have fallen in love with many of their styles because they come with thin and flexible lash bands, striking the perfect balance between weight and definition. I have been wearing Smitten Kitten and Hey Lover the most, which I think would suit all eye shapes beautifully. They are also just plush enough to transition from day to night seamlessly, which makes it easy to amp up your look with just a bit more eyeliner!

Since I usually wear false lashes on shoots, I've kept my D.U.P. Eyelash Glue in Black very handy recently. My lashes do not lift often, but I like to relieve my dry eyes with my Refresh Optive Advanced Preservative-Free eye drops (the best for sensitive eyes) throughout the day. Since the drops can wet my lashes and weaken the glue's hold, I carry my lash glue just in case I need a quick fix. I purchase the D.U.P. glue from Little Tokyo beauty boutiques or Japanese grocers like Mitsuwa with a beauty aisle.

I rarely ever touch up my makeup when I am out and about, but I like to take my Cle de Peau Luminizing Powder with me — and I swear it's not just because the champagne compact is utterly, jaw-droppingly pretty. This is a magically luminous-yet-never-oily, smooth and even complexion in a compact. I swear by it! I use 13 Sand when I want a bronzy glow and 14 Delicate Pink when I want a brighter highlighted look. These Cle de Peau Luminizers are ultra finely milled, do not accentuate pores, and in short, are the best powder highlighters I have ever encountered... and that's saying a lot considering I've worked with luxury cosmetics for a decade now!

As I age, I love red lips more and more. I now fondly recall my college days when I was too self-conscious to wear red lipstick or even red lip gloss in public, but now I find that it really enhances my complexion in a manner that no other color can! It makes me feel bold and spunky and can even perk up my mood. My favorite of the summer has been Giorgio Armani's Rouge d'Armani lipstick in 400, their signature shade. I love that it is hydrating yet semi-matte, allowing my lips to look fuller without any gloss. It lasts all day, even when sipping water and tea!

Since the sun beats down on us for most of the year, I am wholly dedicated to sunscreen. A good broad-spectrum sunscreen is the best step toward the anti-aging campaign since it will protect you from wrinkles and sun spots as well as prevent any acne scars from darkening. While traveling to Shanghai recently, I discovered some incredible sunscreens! My new obsession, however, is the Lancôme UV Expert XL-Shield SPF 50 PA+++. This sunscreen is an Asia exclusive, but it is worth tracking down because it keeps my skin comfortable yet matte — a nearly impossible combination. Lancôme knocked it out of the park with this one! If you have oily skin or you have been looking for a sunscreen that will not leave you looking oily or feeling greasy, then this is one to try. I found mine in duty-free shopping as a duo set, so gift one to your best friend as I did. I definitely wouldn't blame you if you kept both for yourself, though!

I always carry a bottle of water to stay hydrated through the heat. When I can swing by a Starbucks, I grab an iced drink to cool off. I drink coffee when I need a pick-me-up, but I have recently been loving the new Teavana® Shaken Iced Blackberry Mojito Tea Lemonade. It's unique, refreshing, and totally addicting! I've also tried the Teavana® Shaken Iced Peach Green Tea Lemonade (sweet and tasty) and the Teavana® Shaken Iced Black Tea Lemonade (a classic), which I throw in the mix to shake things up.

Last but not least, I have been wearing my Ray-ban Aviator Flash Sunglasses non-stop. I have them in Green and have been contemplating the Copper version because I have become so fond of the style! I usually prefer my oversized plastic sunglasses, but these affordable Flash lenses are ultra lightweight and comfortable. They also make a statement, which goes hand in hand with my colorful lululemon athletica outfits for easy, breezy airport outfits!
