Kiehl's Skin Tone Correcting & Beautifying BB Cream Review, Photos, Tutorial

The Kiehl's Actively Correcting & Beautifying BB Cream with SPF 50, $37 USD, is my favorite BB. The formula is noncomedogenic! It is also free of parabens and silicones, which is perfect for those with sensitive skin. This is one of the dewiest BB Cream formulas I have ever encountered, but it smoothes out pores beautifully considering it does not contain any silicones. It is very hydrating so I do not use a separate moisturizer underneath. I, however, must set with a mattifying powder to ensure longer lasting results and a shine-free finish. This BB Cream is best fot those with normal to dry skin, and the SPF 50 is perfect for those that are serious about protecting the skin from aging and/or preventing acne scars from discoloring further.

The one concern that some have is the natural scent of the product, though it is fragrance-free. This BB Cream has a faint Vitamin C scent that is not masked by any artificial citrus fragrance which is more commonplace today. I personally do not smell it unless I take a close whiff of the bottle and cannot smell it at all when it is applied, but I recommend smelling it for yourself at a counter if you have a sensitive nose.
The shade Light is a great match for my skin tone, considering the colors offered are a bit limited at four. It could have been a bit more yellow in tone, but the neutral color helps to brighten up the center of my face. FYI: The jump between Light and Medium is much more significant than the jump between Fair and Fair/Light. The illustration below shows swatches that are fairly true to color. I thought Medium might have been my match at first, but it is noticeably too deep and olive-toned against my neck.

Now check out this BB Cream in action!

    1. Unfortunately, very few US department stores will ship to Canada. You might want to try calling a Saks Fifth Ave.. good luck!

  2. Be careful when trusting whats written on the tube. Vitamin C molecule is bigger than the actual molecule of the skin cell, therefore Vitamin C cannot get absorbed as you may want to. Plus only about 20% can get in, and even this depends on the Ph which must be close to acidic - Ph 4.

  5. Hi Rae! Thanks for he great review! I have been trying out this Kiehl's BB cream as well and I love it! It looks very natural on even though the texture is a bit thick. In your video, you mentioned that the colour "Light" is a bit pinkier than you would like. Actually, in Asia, we have the colour "Natural". (We only have 3 colours offered in Asia: Fair, Light and Natural" and our version is SPF50 PA+++). "Natural" is the same colour deepness as "Light", but the undertone leans more on the yellow side instead of pink, hence more natural for Asian skintone. Maybe you can try this "Natural" colour if you have friends from Asia to help you buy. I am using exactly "Natural" colour and it is a perfect fit. Again, love your blog and your videos are my favourite! :)

  6. I've never use a bronzer before, but now I'm thinking about getting one.
I watched the Chanel CC cream review and you also talked about the Tarte Amazonian Clay Bronzer.
Compare to this Armani bronzer, which one do you recommend for the first time user?
And also for the Chanel CC cream and Kiehl's BB cream, which one do you think I should get? I have normal to oily skin.
    Thanks!

    1. It depends on what kind of effect you like.. the Tarte is better for a deeper bronze effect with definition. I think the Armani bronzer is easier for a first-time bronzer user because it's softer and easier to control! And as much as I like the Chanel CC, it's only available in Shade 20. Try Kiehl's first if you're too dark for Chanel's 20!
