Work Out/Running Pants for Petites!

Even though I'm naturally petite at 5'1, I do not have a stick skinny figure. I never have and never will! I, however, accept my curves [round butt and larger thighs - but relatively small hips] for what they are and simply try find clothes to accommodate my awkward body type.

This is why I love to wear yoga and work out pants! They stretch more easily than denim but wick away sweat when I'm active. I'm always on the go, running errands or at school, so I like having pants that I can slip into without hesitation instead of having to sit in front of my closet debating what to wear. So far, Lululemon pants and Gap gFLex pants are my favorites. I only just purchased the gFlex pants this morning, though, so they are not included in the review.

I first heard about Lululemon through my best friend, whose aunt is an avid Lululemon collector. The brand runs a little on the expensive side but it's seriously worth the extra funds for longer lasting pants. I always try to get the most mileage out of any of my clothes but this is especially important with my pants because they tend to experience the most abuse. Lululemon, however, definitely leads the pack in terms of quality because the pilling is ultra minimal [so long as you don't throw them in the dryer] and their fits flatter nearly all body types! Anyway, here's the video if you'd like to see the pants :)

Chanel Perfection v. Pro Lumiere Foundation + US v. Euro Foundation Brush Review & Comparison

Chanel Perfection Lumiere: My combination skin's new favorite daily foundation! Yes, I think it's even better than Vitalumiere Aqua, which oily skins may have better luck with. It wears well, just like VA but it's a lighter veil of coverage [due to the powdery finish] and 40 Beige in Perfection Lumiere is a better match for me than are B30 or B40 in VA. There are 20 shades in this new foundation so fair maidens and deep goddesses - check out the incredibly accurate swatches on Cafe Makeup HERE!
P.S. I forgot to mention the scent of Perfection Lumiere in the video! My weak nose finds it to be a relatively strong fresh rose and baby powder scent but it is it is much more noticeable than any of the fragrances in other Chanel foundations. Sensitive noses beware! If you like scented foundations like the YSL line-up, you will most likely love this scent, too!

Chanel Pro Lumiere: The older version, now officially phased-out. Keep in mind that the names are similar but it's a completely different foundation! Pro Lumiere is a thicker/heavier, slightly longer lasting foundation than is Perfection Lumiere and is best for normal to slightly dry skins. I loved using it in the winters when my combination skin tends to be on the drier side.

Full Chanel foundations review coming October or November!

Nail Polish Collection + Must-Haves Video Details

This is my first "collection" video and I apologize if it failed to impress. After all, it's difficult to get a good look at the colors I have when they are stacked in a box. Once I finally get settled next year, I will film a room tour or closet tour [depending on where I decide to put the polish] so that everyone will be able to see all the variations in colors and textures. Also, give my two must-haves a try because a solid base coat and a glossy top coat will improve the wear of any polish :) For now, though, I hope you enjoy this in-depth sneak preview!

Benefit They're Real! Mascara Review, Photos, Swatches

I rarely test out new mascaras and when I do, I am very skeptical of those that are not waterproof because 'regular' formulas tend to be wet, causing my lashes to droop throughout the day. Plus, my eyes are naturally teary and that is why I opt to use waterproof mascaras daily - to avoid any unattractive 'dripping' incidents :) So when I took Benefit's newest mascara, They're Real!, for a test run, I had very few expectations. To my surprise, it performed rather well on my long but stubborn lashes!

I used my Shu Uemura lash curler and topped with two coats of mascara, waiting 30 seconds for the first coat to set before applying the second. My lashes looked rather clumpy with a third coat so I stuck with two for the photo below. My lashes did droop after a few hours but if Benefit produced a waterproof version of this mascara, I'd be all over it!

Two coats on upper lashes, one swipe on bottom lashes!

Also, the mascara head is just the right size for an 'oversized' wand. The CoverGirl Lashblast's wand looks similar but They're Real's outperforms it by a mile. They're Real!'s wand has a softer and gentler silicone/plastic head, with longer bristles to coat each lash at the root. [Note: CG Lashblasts - all of them, including the waterproof formulations - are my least favorite drugstore mascaras.]

Bottom Line: They're Real! has a comfortable, all-day wear and flake-free formula that is worth a shot for those with cooperate lashes.

Lancome Le French Touch Absolu Review, Photos, Swatches

My second favorite piece from Lancome's Fall 2011 collection is the limited edition Le French Touch Absolu Cult Rouge Silky Cream lipstick. [I featured my favorite piece, the Maison blusher, last month here.] Le French Touch is an ultra chic, berry red housed in a retro miniscule gold bullet that slips easily into my jeans front pocket. This entire collection's reds are very characteristic of my personal take on the iconic color - sheer, glossy, polished.

This is the most expensive Lancome lipstick I have ever purchased at $35 but it was worth every penny. The color is buildable, as you can see in the swatches above, and the formula is hydrating but has virtually no slip. Impressed yet? If not, let me tell you in all honesty that I could and would wear this beautiful red daily. The thin veil of color magically perks up my complexion on rough mornings. And not only is there a very generous amount of product in the itty bitty bullet, the engravings on the case make it a masterpiece of a collector's item.

Bottom Line: Buy it NOW! Nordstrom is currently having a GWP so there's more incentive for you to buy ;)

Tarte Amazonian Clay Long-Wear Blush in Blissful Review, Photos, Swatches

I have only tested a few Tarte products in the past, as the line does not call to me much and what I have tried - the lip stains and a few samples of various products - are very mediocre. Tarte's Amazonian Clay powder blushes, however, have taken YouTube by storm recently so I figured I ought to give one a shot. I love a long-lasting powder blush as much as any other beauty junkie, and I usually turn to Chanel's for shimmers and Illamasqua's for mattes [my favorite is Katie], but I think Tarte's are a solid second choice for mattes.

I walked into Sephora with the intention of purchasing either Dollface [too lavendar] or Tipsy [too bright and shimmery] but I eventually walked out with the shade Blissful, as it was the most unique addition out of the Tarte line-up to my blush collection. Blissful is a warm peach with a hint of brown and it is a very pigmented shade that does not oxidize on my skin.

Overall, I find it to be a neutral shade to wear daily. It does run on the warmer side but I can wear it with most eyeshadow combinations, making it a great travel companion - plus, the compact is sturdy, quite weighty. I can't positively say I will purchase another shade because I really don't need another blush but I would repurchase Blissful if I ever hit pan!

Bottom Line: Tarte's produced a winner with these Amazonian Clay blushes and you should own at least one.

August Favorites List and Details

Just to keep everyone updated, I am still loving the Visionnaire. It's worth every penny I paid. My pores are tightening and even my boyfriend loves the fresh scent! It absorbs quickly and best of all, it can be used around the orbital bone of your eyes and it doesn't sting at all. Like I said, use it with the Genifique Night Repair creme and wash your face with the Clarisonic in the mornings.. you'll see magic happen ;) Enjoy the rest of the video!
