REVIEW | Tom Ford Extreme Collection Eyeshadow Swatches + Lash and Brow Tint Swatches

I constantly see complaints that luxury brands don't offer enough color, but Tom Ford answered in a big way this Spring!  I can't see many being dissatisfied with the twenty eyeshadow singles and tinted mascaras released.  These are indeed ultra pigmented and long-wearing (no primer necessary whatsoever), but it's the mirrored mini-compact in sleek reflective chrome that is unique to Tom Ford's Extreme Collection that I adore.  Most swatch as well as they apply on the eyes.  I recommend using a densely packed flat brush for maximum color impact.

I only have 16 shades but my favorites are the glitter finishes anyway and that's what I recommend because you can layer with any eyeshadow in your stash!  Some of the shades, particularly the blues and purples, are reminiscent of previous releases from quads and palettes but occasionally, repeats in single format are worth splurging on.  I absolutely love love love the glitters!

The textures are quite smooth, even for glitters which I normally apply with a clean fingertip.  The foil finishes are very vibrant, even the TFx4 shade which I always blend with a matte brown and matte orange to keep it wearable for daytime.  These eyeshadow might be intimidatingly bright but they are so easy to work with!

TFx17 is a deep turquoise glitter
TFx16 is a lavender glitter
TFx15 is a pink red glitter
TFx20 is a gold glitter
TFx19 is a slate blue silver glitter
TFx11 is an emerald green
TFx9 is an indigo with a purple duochrome
TFx8 is a beautiful teal
TFx7 is a rich royal purple
TFx6 is a cool violet
TFx3 is a bright pink
TFx10 is a charcoal black
TFx14 is a golden citron
TFx1 is a silvery grey
TFx4 is a coppery orange
TFx13 is a pink/lavender duochrome

Missing:
TFx5 is a very pretty red, which is quite trendy for eyeshadow right now!  TFx12 is a burgundy berry and TFx2 is fairly traditional gold.  TFx18 is a military green glitter that I may really need in the fall season.

The new Extreme Lash and Brow Tints are pretty interesting, although not a must-have in my book.  No smudging though!  My favorite is TFx24 because it is the most wearable. This copper bronze shade is the perfect "colorful" shade to wear year-round and it catches light beautifully.  TFx22 has a slightly pink duochrome as seen in the swatches and TFx21 is extremely pigmented, probably the most impactful color on brown eyes.  TFx23 is a gorgeous teal that I know I'm going to love wearing in the summer, the only one that made my eyes pop when I opened up the tube!

Bottom line: These Tom Ford Extreme singles are expensive eyeshadows but wow, you need at least one.

Bobbi Brown Everything Eyes Palette Review, Photos

I swung by Nordstrom to pick up a couple pretty hand soaps for my new vanities, and as I was walking out, the new Bobbi Brown Everything Eyes Palette caught my eye. It's available exclusively at Nordstrom, so I decided to splurge since I've been on the road a lot and have needed a multi palette with brushes to keep in my gym bag for a few months now!

Burberry Eye Colour Contour Eye Smoke and Sculpt Pen Review, Photos, Swatches

Burberry just released the hottest new eyeshadow product called the Eye Colour Contour, and it comes in my favorite form — a retractable pen! These are not your standard range of shades, since they are intended for smoking and sculpting the eyes with precision and ease. I love the mix of brightening neutrals and sultry browns. Check out the swatches after the jump!

TOP 10 | Best of J-Beauty Review

We continue Asia Week with a top ten edit, specifically for all those who have been waiting to hear about Japanese beauty exclusives! Narrowing down this list to just ten products was much more difficult than I imagined, but I truly believe this review will steer you in the right direction when shopping in Japan. I've spent an obscene amount of money on testing phenomenal, mediocre and even downright awful products since my first trip to Tokyo this year (in January), so I'm going to share what I've learned and highlight the most memorable of the lot. Get ready for J-Beauty heaven after the jump!

June 2015 Beauty Favorites + Moving Chit Chat!

Keep in touch on Instagram
I can hardly believe we are halfway through 2015!! June was a very stressful month because of the move, but I am glad we survived with all body parts intact. I will look back fondly on that first apartment, because living on my own was my first big girl step and I learned too many things to count! Now, I hope this new apartment will allow me to grow creatively and share with you more beautiful lifestyle inspirations, such as home decor and beauty organization. Plus, expect more pictures of Beau since my new place has more space and light!

I'm still in the process of unpacking and waiting for my furniture orders to arrive, but in the meantime, I wanted to share my latest skin care display. I thought more of you would be curious about the products, but I got an overwhelming response for the tray! It's actually a kitchen server from Crate and Barrel. I loved it immediately because I have a weakness for marble, but I knew it would be perfect for skin care because of the height between the shelves. I had used acrylic organizers from The Container Store for years, but they are too high maintenance and cannot accommodate larger bottles and jars. Now my bathroom (and yours, too) can be clutter-free!

Note: I did not feature any skin care in this episode because I plan to do another skin care video later this month. Would you prefer a current skin care favorites or morning/evening skin care routine? Let me know!

TOP 10 | Best of Tom Ford Beauty Review

Since I rely so heavily on my favorite Tom Ford Beauty products, I wanted to share this brief brand guide to help you navigate and shop his permanent lineup! I adore the sparkly celestial eyeshadows in most of his eyeshadow quads, but if you prefer subtle shimmer/satin finishes, stick to Orchid Haze and the all-matte Cocoa Mirage! I do realize that glitter is not appropriate for the majority of office jobs and some women prefer smoother, refined eye colors. If, however, you enjoy the celestial formula — which is truly the best glitter formula on the market — do try patting them on with a clean fingertip. I do use a flat shader brush occasionally, but the fingertip trick eliminates all fall out!
Most of my readers and subscribers know how incredibly sensitive and finicky my lips are. Tom Ford's satin and matte lip colors are some of the few formulas that do not irritate my lips! No peeling whatsoever and the pigmentation is always intense. I also wear the Bronzing Powder almost daily because I'm addicted to the finely milled matte texture. Plus the color isn't too warm aka orange, which I much prefer! The Concealing Pen is a new product that some seem to be on the fence about, but I think those with oily and combination skin will love the budge-proof formula. The coverage is about medium, but it brightens up my eyes so effectively! If you have dry eyes, make sure to prep with eye cream. I've covered the other products in my Top 10 repeatedly throughout the years, so please make sure to check out the reviews if you're interested in the details.
Before I leave you to watch the video, I just wanted to emphasize how phenomenal Tom Ford's permanent nail lacquers are. There are so many neutral and vampy colors that blow Chanel's and even Dior's reformulated gel polishes out of the water! My nail beds are extra small and a bit curved, so I tend to experience excess chipping with lackluster formulas. Tom Ford's long-lasting nail polish in Carnal Red is my new signature red (worn below), and Toasted Sugar is the perfect nude for all light to tan complexions! #need

MAC Cosmetics Nordstrom Naturals 15-Pan Eyeshadow Palette Review, Photos, Swatches

MAC Cosmetics recently launched the Eyes on MAC Collection featuring several pre-set, color coordinated eyeshadow palettes. Today I will share my thoughts on the limited edition, Nordstrom Naturals x 15 edition, which was specifically curated to spotlight Nordstrom's bestselling MAC eyeshadows! I was thrilled to see that this palette offers the perfect balance between matte and shimmery textures. I also find the Nordstrom Naturals palette the most versatile because of the wide variety of highlighter, transitional, and smoky colors. You can actually use some of the shades to fill in eyebrows or use them wet as eyeliner! All swatches and complete look after the jump xo

February 2015 Hits and Misses + My London A/W 2015 Fashion Week Photo Diary

The month of February has been one of the most tiring yet inspiring of my life! I discovered a blemish gel that actually works (OMG!), and I traveled to two cities for Fashion Week. It was brutally cold and a whole lot of hustlin' through sleep deprivation was involved, but it was truly a beauty blogger's dream come true! I attended several shows and captured some behind-the-scenes footage with Christian Louboutin Beauté at Cushnie et Ochs in NYC and now have these beautiful moments from Burberry A/W 2015 Backstage in London to reveal! It can be rather difficult to capture the intensity of the backstage atmosphere, but I hope you'll enjoy my February 2015 Hits & Misses and London Photo Diary!

Burberry A/W 2015 Runway | The Perfect Wearable, Modern Smoky Eye Makeup Look + Tutorials

Burberry has just released the most incredible smoky eye look for their Autumn/Winter Runway Show! We tend to think of traditional smoky eyes as ultra heavy on black kohl and glitter, but Burberry's rendition is as classy and wearable as could be. Wendy Rowe described the eye makeup as an "impression" of a smoky eye, a modern and edgy take. Though the color is sheerer, the smoky iridescent charcoal has so much impact! Her tip was to avoid going too dark on the upper lash line to prevent making the eyes look smaller. If you have narrow almond eyes as I do, avoid lining too close to the lower inner corner. I rarely layer eyeliner with powder eyeshadow on my lower lash line, so this is a departure from my standard eye look, but I think the overall makeup is genius! This is the kind of smoky eye makeup I could wear every single day. It's easy and surprisingly natural. I normally tend to stay away from this kind of casual, slightly smudged look (only 1 coat of mascara! gasp), but it just goes to show how fun it can be to switch up your routine and push the boundaries of your comfort zone! Many thanks to Burberry and Wendy Rowe for allowing me a preview of this gorgeous makeup and don't forget to watch the show live, here on the blog below! xo

P.S. The Cadet Green nail polish is divine! It's literally the best khaki nail polish I have ever worn. The formula is perfect in two standard coats.
