Burberry Eye Colour Contour Eye Smoke and Sculpt Pen Review, Photos, Swatches

Burberry just released the hottest new eyeshadow product called the Eye Colour Contour, and it comes in my favorite form — a retractable pen! These are not your standard range of shades, since they are intended for smoking and sculpting the eyes with precision and ease. I love the mix of brightening neutrals and sultry browns. Check out the swatches after the jump!

Although I love powder eyeshadows, I do agree with Burberry Make-up Artistic Consultant Wendy Rowe that these are great for application on the go. Her favorites are Midnight Brown and Pale Copper since they are versatile enough to work across all skin tones.

My top two are Almond and Pale Copper. Almond is the perfect all over lid color for my complexion since it evens out and covers any discoloration while Pale Copper is just shimmery enough to be appropriate for day as well as night.

I would even use a couple of the darker shades like Stone Grey and Dusky Mauve as eyeliners in a pinch, since you can run them directly across the lash lines and smudge gently with a pinky finger. The Natural color is one of the few mattes in this range, and it is excellent for defining the brow bones and subtly highlighting the inner corners.

Midnight Brown is one of Burberry's most popular shades, and it's not hard to see why. I think this one works best to smoke out the outer corners. Rosewood leans more pink than purple on me, so I like to play with this one mostly along the lower lash lines. I think it would look absolutely lovely blended across the lids with a bit of shimmery charcoal eyeshadow in an elongated winged shape for definition.

These beauties are now available at Sephora for $29 apiece. The formula is creamy yet long-lasting since it is truly waterproof, and does not crease or fade for nearly six hours on my normal eyes. Mix and match colors or pair with powder shadows, like Burberry's Wet/Dry Glow shades to create more depth, dimension, and vibrancy!
