This Favorites episode is launching a little earlier than usual because my twin sister is making a surprise reappearance! We filmed a monolid makeup tutorial a few years ago, but she is finally back and chatting about products instead of sitting in as my model. If you'd like to order the La Mer Skin Tint — which is not widely available online yet — from her Neiman Marcus store in Newport Beach, you can have one shipped to you! It is such a phenomenal tinted sunscreen, smooth and creamy without feeling greasy. Do call her at (949.220.3366) if you'd like to get shade matched. We may film some other hair and beauty tutorials together soon, so please feel free to share any video suggestions! Now, this April lineup is fairly simple and straightforward, covering most of my daily essentials. I'm turning 26 this week, and the older I get, the more I like to keep it simple when I'm not in front of the camera. Beauty is more about grooming and enjoyment v. makeup and glamour as you age (in my experience). Still, there's nothing more exciting than sparkly Tom Ford newness! Hope you enjoy the bloopers xo

I love this video! I didn't realize you had a twin! two beauties! I hope that in the future you will feature your sister more often as the dynamic between you two is so wonderful that I watched this video twice. I know you like Wayne Goss and Chikuhodo brushes, but if you could only buy one, which would it be? I am trying to decide between the two and the lovely flowers on the Chikuhodo is tempting, but the price tag is very daunting...
ReplyDeleteHi, thanks so much for watching!! I love Chikuhodo a little more, but it really depends on your skin type! If you tend to wear loose powder and have normal to dry skin or sensitive skin, I recommend Chikuhodo. If you have oily/combination skin and if you tend to use powder foundations more, try Wayne Goss! xo
Deleteomg I didn't know you had a twin, Rae!!! And she runs the La Mer store? Gosh, i die....!!
ReplyDeleteShe works at the La Mer counter, yes! ^^
DeleteYou and your twin are delightful. She has a twinkle in her eye that says she'd be up for a bit of mischief :-)
ReplyDeleteHahah! Yes, I'm the responsible one and she's the mischievous one ^^
DeleteI really enjoyed this video with your sister. It would be nice to see you do her makeup again.
ReplyDeleteHi Rae, I really need your help
ReplyDeleteFor a week my skin is acting up towards my usual sk2 moisturizer
Is Lamer tinted ok for my super sensitive and combination skin? Is it worth to try or I better stick to my sk2?
Is it true that skin can 'get used' to our skin care? Thanks a lot
Hi, Anny! I'm sorry to hear your skin is acting up. The La Mer Tint is more of a sunscreen than it is a moisturizer, so you should still wear SPF under (unless you have super oily skin). If you've been using the SK-II for a while without issues, the trigger could be allergies, food, or stress. Your skin can get "used to" skin care, but that term is mostly used to reference a plateau, when the the products no longer work as well as they did initially. Good luck! xo
DeleteHi Rae, do you set with powder when you use the la mer reparative tint? And what powder do you use to set when you use the sulwhasoo perfecting cushion?
ReplyDeleteI usually wear the La Mer alone! It's nice and dewy but not greasy. If I do use powder on either the La Mer or the Sulwhasoo, I'll usually set with Chantecaille Loose Powder! http://bit.ly/1KOELqD
DeleteHi Rae! Can you please ask your sister where she gets her hair done/stylist? I love yours of course but wanted to dye my hair ombré brown/blonde. Thanks so much Rae!
