February 2015 Hits and Misses + My London A/W 2015 Fashion Week Photo Diary

The month of February has been one of the most tiring yet inspiring of my life! I discovered a blemish gel that actually works (OMG!), and I traveled to two cities for Fashion Week. It was brutally cold and a whole lot of hustlin' through sleep deprivation was involved, but it was truly a beauty blogger's dream come true! I attended several shows and captured some behind-the-scenes footage with Christian Louboutin Beauté at Cushnie et Ochs in NYC and now have these beautiful moments from Burberry A/W 2015 Backstage in London to reveal! It can be rather difficult to capture the intensity of the backstage atmosphere, but I hope you'll enjoy my February 2015 Hits & Misses and London Photo Diary!

First I'll reintroduce you to the lovely Wendy Rowe, Burberry's artistic consultant. She has the sweetest, laid-back personality, and I love her sense of humor as well as her natural approach to makeup! Here she is showing the beauty bloggers the brand new Burberry camo-themed eyeshadow palette. I am so glad khakis are back!

From the iconic Horseferry House to the busy tent, there's always someone new to meet and something new to see. Our time was sadly limited, but I got to meet the super tall British beauty bloggers Lilly Pebbles and Ruth Crilly as well as famed Korean makeup artist Pony this time around (above). I can hardly speak Korean and Pony only speaks a little English, so our conversation was pretty hilarious! She was very kind, though, and every bit as beautiful as she looks online.

Now here's a sweet smile from one of my favorite models, Malaika Firth. I randomly ran into her at Blue Bottle Coffee in New York, and she told me that she loved my purple hair! Believe it or not, she was the first Black model in 19 years to book a Prada campaign. It's hard to believe that she turns 21 this month! Wow I feel old (lol).

Getting primped for a show takes quite a bit of time. Models must have their skin pampered, makeup prepped, nails painted and hair curled before hopping into their clothes. I spotted a Korean model backstage (whoo hoo!) and started snapping away because she was such a camera ham! One of the nicest models backstage.

Before we move on, here are quick views of the finished nails — dark yet polished — and the hair look in the works! The undone hair look is quite popular for Fall. Just like the lived in smoky eye, the hair is meant to have a hint of volume with a barely brushed vibe.

I also was able to explore stores like Neal's Yard Remedies and Liz Earle on King's Road as well as other hot spots in London like Burger & Lobster, and I even tracked down the popular Anya Hindmarch Inflight Case at Fortnum & Mason. I took the unexpected route and purchased the new neon yellow color because it's so easy to spot in my purse and/or carry-on! It is truly worth all the hype and every penny I paid.

  2. Hey I was hoping you remembered the eyeliner used on the Korean model? It looks a bit like a sharpie. Thanks in advance!

    1. The first photo of her is a brush (not liner), and the second photo of is Burberry's Sheer Concealer. The pencils used on all the models were the Burberry Kohl and the Waterproof Kohl!
