Lancome Rouge in Love Lipsticks in Corail in Love, Violette Coquette, Rose Rendez Vous, Sequence of Love, and Delicate Lace Review, Photos, Swatches

Lancome recently released the Rouge in Love lipstick collection, which attracted so much attention right off the bat due to several shades being worn by a bevy of celebrities on the red carpet! A lot of you asked me to review the range, so I decided to film a complete video to discuss the packaging and formula, which I should have uploaded sometime next week. I'll apply each of the lipsticks directly to my lips, which will allow you to see exactly how they apply straight from the tube. Today, however, I'll just show you swatches of the six shades I received, courtesy of Lancome.

My favorite, as I suspected it would be, is Corail in Love 322M. I had to heavily post-process this solo shot of the lipstick to get a true-to-color picture. Though it appears much more red in the tube in the main photo on top, it is the perfect coral that leans a touch pink, not too bright and not too orange. It's one of my top lipstick picks from out of all the recent new launches.

Next is Violette Coquette 381B. I was shocked when I pulled this out of the tube, but it is actually a gorgeous, very unique lip color! A true violet is not something I would have purchased for myself, though it is rather fun to play with. Ideal for the adventurous ones! It will look just as incredible against fair skin as it will dark skin.

Now, Rose Rendezvous 230M immediately reminded me of Chanel Rouge Coco Mademoiselle, rose with a hint of brown. Unfortunately, I cannot provide a swatch comparison for you because my grandmother loved the color so I gave mine to her. It's one of those universal medium rose shades that is appropriate for all-day, any event wear.

Sequence of Love 170N is so intensely pigmented and quite cool. It makes my teeth look whiter without contrasting too harshly against the yellow undertones of my skin, impressive. This one feels the creamiest of the bunch, typical with reds. Not for the faint of heart because this red is loudmouth bright!

And last but not least, my unexpected My Lips But Better winner: Delicate Lace 217M. It looks so dark in the tube, but it is actually a lovely medium rose with a mauve undertone. It reads slightly nude because of the iridescent sheen, but it does not have detectable shimmer particles.

Now for the swatches! I hope these will suffice. Again, I'll apply these to my lips in the video review!

Bottom Line: I'm in love with Rouge in Love! I went to a counter and snatched up two more shades, plus a nail polish that launched with this collection. These lipsticks are worth way more than their $25 price tag, so let's just be thankful Lancome realizes it's a recession and threw us a bone. Please wait for my full video review for more information about the formula, finishes, and packaging. Available at all Lancome counters now!

  5. I just adore Corail in Love, it was the first one that caught my attention, next to Sweet Embrace. I just love the colours sooo much, and the packaging is just SO adorable.

  6. Do these Lancome lipsticks have a scent? In my previous experience with Lancome, their lipsticks have been more scented than I like. Thank you!

  7. Ronnie - I believe they are permanent! Just the nail polishes that launched with the lipsticks are LE.

Fleur - I can't smell any fragrance to them.. they also don't have a taste!

  8. I bought Violet Coquette a couple of weeks ago and it is my absolute favorite shade of lipstick right now. I also purchased Midnight Rose and it's very nice.

  10. These look so pretty! I've heard that these wear well too. Rae — I'm curious, since you've reviewed so many lipsticks, if you have a favorite brand/formula.

  12. Thanx so much for doing the review and the great swatches. I love Lancome Lipsticks both for the Colours they offer and their gorgeous formula and texture. I get more compliments from my Lancome range than any other which include Guerlain and MAC. Though I own as many lipglosses as lipsticks I have to admit I'm more of a lipstick than lipgloss girl because of the colour payoff and wearability. We have to pay $49 AUD here in Australia but these little babies are worth it. Stops my lips from drying out and best applied straight from the tube these are a no-brainer and my daily GoTo and HG!
