TOP TEN | Spring 2015 The New Neutrals

The color of the season is neutral. I have seen it all over Nordstrom's beauty department, where every beauty ad is featuring minimal makeup in nude, neutral color palettes. That is why I will be sharing the best nudes and pinks to deep rose and soft violet-hued makeup in my collection today! My top 10 picks after the jump xo

According to Nordstrom, the 'New Neutrals' is this season's best beauty investment, and I believe they are right in claiming so. The recent Fall/Winter runway shows featured deep teals and dramatic pops of coral, but updated classics will never go out of style (or rotation) in your makeup bag. Looking past the traditional brown neutrals, we are now elevating rose and violet hues and making them subtly nude yet flattering and accessible for every skin tone.

EYES
Charlotte Tilbury's Sophisticate Eye Palette is one of my must-haves this season. When Nordstrom launched her line a few months go, The Sophisticate is the first look I gravitated towards. These four nude eyeshadows enhance both warm and cool complexions. There are no fancy frills like glitter with this palette, but it is undeniably a workhorse. The Sophisticate eye palette is a staple that can be incorporated into any eye look to add polish and refinement!
The Urban Decay Naked 2 Eye Palette is ideal for the playful makeup aficionado. The variety of colors and finishes allow for more versatility and room to experiment, so this makes working with neutrals more interesting! Of all the Naked Eye Palettes, I have always favored the second. The mix of cool taupes with warm pinks and violets create such pretty combinations. If you like having lots of options for both day and night at your disposal, this is the right palette for you.
Burberry's Rose Pink eyeshadow is one of my favorites in the new Wet and Dry Silk formula. It is highly pigmented and most ideal as a crease color, but you can wear it with all sorts of beiges and purples to create an ultra luxurious, multi-dimensional eye look. I tend to shy away from rosy eyeshadows because they tend to make my hooded almond eyes look swollen, but the Rose Pink is surprisingly easy to wear. If you purchase just one eyeshadow this season, make it Rose Pink!
The Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Color in Rosegold has been a staple cream eyeshadow base since its release a year ago.  The lightweight, creamy formula works on the most sensitive of eyes, and the metallic gleam catches the light beautifully. Rose gold is a color trend that is here to stay, so give the long-lasting Caviar formula a try! It can be worn alone, but I prefer to use Rosegold as a base for my inner corner highlight. It has a hint of pink and a hint of gold; nothing obnoxious or overwhelming about it.

CHEEKS
Tom Ford's Frantic Pink is one of my favorite light pink blushes, and it is one of the few blush colors in my 'everyday' section of my vanity. There is a brightening peach undertone that makes it supremely more wearable for those with yellow and olive-toned complexions. The effect is luminous and girly but never feels contrived. You can easily build up the color using his dense Cheek brush, though I will always champion the subtle blush look. Those with very tan or dark skin can actually use Frantic Pink as an alternative to traditional white or ivory highlighters!
Urban Decay's Naked Flush is an affordable multi-tasker for cheeks. The bronzing, highlighting, and blush powders are finely milled and look silky smooth on the skin. If your complexion is medium-tan or dark, try Strip or Naked. If you are fair to light-medium, try Native. The opal pink highlighter in the Native palette is one of the most exceptional for the price, and I have raved about it many times in the past. These are the kind of cheek neutrals that spice up your beauty routine yet still make you feel like you.

LIPS
The Guerlain Kiss Kiss Lipstick has made a comeback and returned as one of the most exquisitely packaged lipsticks on the market. The svelte curves and glossy finish of the black and gold bullet are unforgettably unique, and the formula nourishes the lips while providing medium to full coverage color. I own Rosy Silk and Rosy Boop, which is one of the best My-Lips-But-Better shades.
Chanel's Glossimer in Sweet Beige 297 is a pink-mauve with golden and iridescent shimmer. I adore Glossimers and have collected them for years, but Sweet Beige is one of the most memorable because it is the epitome of "new neutral." The formula is rich and creamy with semi-opaque color. Highly recommend!

NAILS
Burberry's Hydrangea Pink and Rose Pink Nail Polishes are currently my favorite pink polishes. They are elegant and feminine and pair well with Spring fashion, just as a neutral should function. Hydrangea Pink is new this season, but I still reach for Rose Pink more often because the color is softer. The best Burberry nail polish in this new neutral theme, however, is Nude Beige. It yields a very clean manicure.
The Christian Louboutin Beauté in Madame Est Nue and Just Nothing are some of the most-worn neutrals in my nail polish collection. Madame Est Nue looks best when painted with three steady coats, and I love how the translucent touch of pink brightens up my hands. Just Nothing is one of the best nude shades for those with light to medium-tan complexions, since it has the perfect balance of pink and yellow.

Bottom Line: We all need to shake things up with some "new neutrals" and update our basics!
