To celebrate the New York Times best-selling author Melissa de la Cruz's new book, "The Ring and The Crown," I created a pictorial for a makeup look inspired by the stunning cover art! I loved the flower crown feature so much, I decided to make my own. I incorporated more purple to match the decadent eyeshadow look and added a bewitchingly bold pink lip to create the effect of a fairer, brighter complexion. Check out more details after the jump!
Start with as flawless a base as possible! I then applied the Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder in Medium to naturally sculpt the face using the Hakuhodo G503 angled brush.
Moving on to the eyes! First, prep with a primer if you have oily lids.

Fleur Fantasy Eye Makeup Tutorial:
1. Apply the light pink shade from the Tom Ford Seductive Rose Eye Color Quad all over the lid and inner corner.
2. Apply the warm purple shade from the Tom Ford Seductive Rose Eye Color Quad on the outer half of the eye and all along the lower lash line.
3. Apply the purple glitter shade from the Tom Ford Seductive Rose Eye Color Quad on top of the purple eyeshadow and softly blend away any harsh edges. Optional: rim the lower waterline with a rose gold pencil eyeliner. I used the em michelle phan Waterliner in Ro's Gold.
4. Apply the Tom Ford Liquid Eyeliner in Deeper to define the eyes.
5. Apply false lashes to the upper lash line and mascara to the bottom lashes. I used Velour Lashes in You Complete Me and the Dior Overcurl Mascara.
6. Bond the false and real lashes together using an eyelash curler, and apply a black pencil liner to the upper waterline. I used the Giorgio Armani Waterproof Eyeliner in Black.
Complete the look with a saturated lip color, like the NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Jardin Des Plantes I used. I hope you enjoy this tutorial and give it a try! xo
Rae, why didn't you re-create this look in motion instead? But you look wonderful, as always.
ReplyDeleteStunning make up.
ReplyDeleteWhy can't we wear flower crowns all the time?? Social norms are so not fun. :-)
Love the fabulous pictorial, Rae! But nothing beats your video tutorials :)
