Tom Ford Frantic Pink (02) and Wicked (06) Cheek Colors Review, Photos, Swatches

Tom Ford Cheek Colors in Frantic Pink and Wicked, $56 USD each, are two of my favorite blush colors. These silky, shimmering colors can be worn alone or paired with bronzer and are a pleasure to apply to the skin — especially with the Tom Ford Cheek Brush (reviewed here). Frantic Pink and Wicked are soft yet pigmented and finely milled as expected. Check out all the skin and face swatches after the jump!

Frantic Pink (02) starts of as a beautiful neutral pink with a hint of peach, but as it oxidizes on top of my foundation, it warms up and loses the brightening element of the pink. For most of the day, it looks like a luminous warm peach that I adore (refer to face swatches below). I love the reflective silver shimmer, so there is no need to wear a highlighter with this color, and the uniformly pearly finish does not accentuate my pores at all. Frantic Pink is the most transformative of all the Tom Ford blushes I have worn, but do keep in mind that all paler pinks and peaches tend to oxidize this same way on me.

Some folks with a skin tone similar to mine (between NC25 & NC30) have complained that Frantic Pink is too faint. This blush is indeed subtle with its sunkissed effect, but it definitely shows well enough on me and is ideal for those who tend to apply blush with a heavy hand.
NOTE: Very tan and dark skin tones can use this as a highlighter.

Wearing Em Cosmetics The Day Life Palette [eyeshadows and lipsticks]
Wicked (06) may be a frosty pearl blush, but the pigmentation of this soft raspberry is out of this world. The individual silver shimmers do pop more against my arm, but the sparkle binds significantly better to the powder base when applied to my face. Wicked accentuates large pores just slightly, so be sure to prep the skin with primer and a quality foundation. I find that of all the Tom Ford Cheek Colors, Wicked is the longest lasting and true-to-color blush on my light-medium skin. I adore how the cooler undertones perk up my complexion, so I prefer to wear Wicked without bronzer. It does not oxidize at all.
NOTE: Wicked is highly pigmented, meaning it requires a more thorough blend for even color, but it is still less maintenance than the ultra intensely pigmented and limited edition (aka no longer available) Narcissist Cheek Color from TF Fall 2012.

Frantic Pink and Wicked are picture perfect and appropriate for any occasion. Flush may still be my sentimental favorite since it was the first Cheek Color I purchased, but Wicked and Frantic Pink made me appreciate how well-edited the Tom Ford blush collection is. I have come to appreciate colors I would generally never be brave enough to wear (see Ravish and Savage here). I am a bronzer addict, not a blush fiend, but Tom Ford's Cheek Colors have become a staple in my full-face makeup arsenal.

You can purchase Frantic Pink and Wicked at Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue, or Neiman Marcus. Again, I highly recommend using the Tom Ford Cheek Color Brush for best application results.

Bottom Line: Though I usually prefer the softer blush style of Frantic Pink, I strongly believe most will find that Wicked's pigmentation and enlivening power make the better splurge between the two.

  1. Great review Rae! I actually bought Wicked and Flush because of your instagram photo. I just received mine and the gold part of the packaging (the magnetized part) is loos (and not tight like the eyeshadow packaging). Is your blush packaging also like that, or did I get a damaged one?

    1. Aww, awesome! And sometimes, the blushes get jostled during shipping. That happened to one of my blushes, so I just pushed the bar tightly back into place and it is fine now. If the problem persists, request an exchange :)

  2. When I need to get out the door in a hurry and I don't have time to really think about a makeup look, Frantic Pink is the blush I usually grab. On my NC15 complexion it is a delicate flush of soft, babydoll pink. It enlivens my complexion without looking over-done. It's also one of my preferred blushers for casual weekends and for those times when I want a soft, romantic look. TF did such a wonderful job in creating his blusher colors and the texture, finish, and pigmentation have become pretty much legendary. They're simply beautiful as are you! I've read your various reviews about TF's blushers and they all look fantastic on you.

  5. Gah, I've been wanting to try Tom Ford cosmetics for like forever, but sadly we only have the lipsticks and the nailpolishes. Both look so lovely but I do prefer Wicked just a bit more! ^^

  8. It's great that Wicked doesn't oxidize, but kinda odd that Frantic Pink does. Btw the pictures are awesome!
