BEST OF: By Terry Brand Review, Photos, Swatches + GIVEAWAY!

By Terry has become one of my go-to brands over the years. I love how the creamy and velvety textures are consistent throughout the brand, and the shades offered are all designed to be supremely wearable and flattering. Since I do get regular requests for By Terry recommendations, I figured it would be best to create a comprehensive brand overview. The video is naturally on the longer side since I discuss a dozen products, but I decided to include even more details regarding my favorite By Terry products here. Check out the photos and swatches after the jump!

The Ligne Blackstar is an amazing eyeliner discovery. It is one of the very few waterproof formulas on the market that does not shrink and flake off at the end of the day. It has a rich satin finish similar to that of Tom Ford's Eyeliner Pen, but it is even more jet black! I absolutely love this felt-tip liner, and I will be sure to use this for events and during humid weather.

These two lip products are best for every day use, as they are sheer and natural. The Hyaluronic Lip Colors featured here are the lightest two available in the line-up. The Gloss Terrybly is definitely a must-have for gloss lovers! The formula is very reminiscent of Giorgio Armani's Flash Lacquers, as they are both quite plush and look ultra shiny.

I saved the best for last! The Rouge Terrybly have recently become my favorite soft matte lipsticks. They do have some slip, so like I recommended in the video, avoid wearing lip balm underneath this formula. Tom Ford's Lip Colors (especially the brights and reds) are more fluid and creamy, whereas these By Terry lipsticks have more silicone for a super smooth, satin-matte look and feel. This is a modern take on lipstick, which makes them so addicting!

  8. Hi Rae, I've always enjoyed your comprehensive reviews & tutorials -- if you had to choose between By Terry and Hourglass foundations and primer, which would be your choice?

    Thanks!

    1. Definitely the By Terry products! I have normal skin though, so if you have oily skin, try Hourglass first!

  9. Hi Rae, I have dry lips as well and I've been wanting to try the the Baume de Rose lip balm for awhile. But I am partial to Nuxe Reve de Miel and have been using it for over 12 yrs and nothing has come close in my opinion. If you've tried Nuxe, I would like to know how you would compare the two (besides one having the spf)?

    Cheers!

    1. I purchased and tried the Nuxe a couple months ago (due to all the raves online) and unfortunately, it does absolutely nothing for my lips. I have tried it on all sorts of conditions - freshly exfoliated, extra dry, peeling, etc.. I love the scent, but that's about it.

  10. Lovely review :) I have always hoped that you would talk more about by Terry products and now my wish comes true! I have always thought that by Terry made some of the best foundation products. I love both Cover Expert and Sheer Expert - they both feel like skin and super natural. Again, thanks for the review - I am going to try out some of their lipsticks!
