The Bobbi Brown Holiday collection is full of wearable surprises and is still available online! I absolutely love and look forward to the preppy, chic black and gold packaging that Bobbi releases during the winter months. They make perfect "feel good" gifts for co-workers and family members and/or tasteful treats for yourself. Check out the photos with all swatches after the jump!

The Smokey Warm and Cool Eye Palettes [Sold Out]

Let's begin with the Twilight Pink Lip and Eye Palette! According to Bobbi Brown, it features everything you need for a gorgeous glow from dawn 'til dusk. The Twilight Pink palette ($80 USD), features ten mix-and-match eyeshadow shades along with four Lip Color hues and mini versions of lip and eyeshadow brushes. 

The best eyeshadows in the palette are Ivory, Slate, and Nude, as they are impressively creamy and finely milled. Espresso is also very pigmented and great as eyeliner, as brow powder for a strong eyebrow look, or for a smoky eye. Slate and Canary applied well, but Cool Ivory required a dense brush with resistance for best color payoff. I recommend using it as a light crease/transition color.

The only dud in the palette is the Dusk Sparkle eyeshadow. I tried layering it with a flat shader brush, but even then, it took quite a bit of effort. The other Sparkle shadow in the palette, Opal, is not as sheer and has a more reflective sheen. It is not as glittery or as pigmented as the other Sparkle shadows I own, but I found it easy enough to apply to the lids and tear ducts.

The Lip Colors in palette form must be broken into to truly experience the colors and textures. I like to firmly press a spatula or even a clean finger into the well and scoop out a bit of product. Gently rubbing the top layer of wax will yield very little color. Do not be timid, since you must break the seal first. Once I completed the process, I was totally satisfied the Lip Colors. Pale Mauve is my favorite, since it has a neutral pink tone and no shimmer. Nude Pink is another good natural choice, and the microshimmer gives the illusion of slightly fuller lips. I personally do not care for Twilight Pink or Bronzed Pink, as they are colors I rarely wear, but they are well pigmented and more appropriate for evening looks. 

Now for the Everyday Pretty Lip & Eye Palette ($30 USD), which has garnered smashingly positive reviews on Nordstrom! It is a flattering mix of basic makeup shades that can be worn daily or used to create a look that's all your own. This compact mini-palette is ideal for travel in a makeup bag and suits a woman on the go. The eyeshadows are beautifully pigmented, not too soft. The shades are basic, but they can be used to create either a fresh neutral or classic smoky eye. The lip gloss has a sheer base but is full of iridescent shimmer, which is a beautiful topper for the creamy Pink Beige and Mauve lip colors. I love the versatility of the lip selections, which you can pair up any which way you'd like. Bonus: the lip colors can double up as cream blush!

My favorite product from the Holiday collection, however, is the Nude Glow Shimmer Brick ($45 USD)! This show-stopping quartet boasts four pearlescent colors to highlight the skin for a "lit-from-within" glow. The shades can be used individually as eyeshadow or to highlight the brow bone. Nude Glow is the best Shimmer Brick I own, and I have tried plenty over the years. Nude Glow is far more champagne in comparison to my Bronze. It is also more finely milled, so it does not accentuate pores nearly as much as the Bronze Shimmer Brick does.

With this collection, Bobbi Brown released some of the best nail polish she has produced thus far. Chrome ($18 USD), is a rich gold glitter that reminds me of Chanel's Illusion D'Or, one of my all time favorite glitter top coat polishes. It is most similar to the currently available Butter London's Tart As a Heart, although Chrome leans strongly gold. I recommend two medium coats for full coverage. Solid Gold ($18 USD) is the smoother, more lustrous version of Chanel's Goldfingers. Solid Gold's relatively neutral gold tones flatter my very warm complexion better. I assumed it would streak badly, but the nail polish self-leveled perfectly.

I will wrap up this collection with the classic red and gold lip duo that is the Siren Red Lip Gloss and Pure Gold High Shimmer Lip Gloss ($24 USD each). I expected Siren Red to look as brilliantly red on my lips as it appeared in the tube, but it is much more wearable and even appropriate for day wear. For an 'Old Hollywood' effect, layer it over your favorite red lipstick. This lip gloss formula is a little sticky for extra wear time, but now it comes with a doe foot applicator instead of a brush! I top Siren Red with the shimmery Pure Gold when I am feeling more adventurous, but I love wearing Pure Gold alone to add some polish and sparkle to my lips. Both formulas are comfortable on my dry lips!
