Photo Diary: My Haute Holiday in Maui, Hawaii

I recently traveled to Maui, Hawaii for a fun-filled vacation! I was only able to stay for a few days, but I miss island life already. I featured a few photos of my stay on Instagram, but I wanted to share some more of my adventures here on the blog. It was my first time in Hawaii, which was unbelievably peaceful, beautiful and lush. Check out more photos after the jump!

I was lucky enough to capture some wild pineapple and dragronfruit right on the farm. I am obsessed with fruit and love all tropical varieties, so I was in fruit heaven. The dragonfruit, though at the end of its season, was picked right off the vine! I tried lots of exotic varieties I had never seen in California, but the pink version featured above was my favorite. Also, stop by the Lahaina Grill and ask for Kirk if you're ever in Maui. He is knowledgeable and efficient, but more importantly, incredibly thoughtful. He created and surprised me with a special dragonfruit dessert.. five star service and the most amazing, mouth-watering appetizers!

The Ritz-Carlton, Kapaula proved to be a perfect property because of its unforgettable and awe-inspiring views as well as top-notch service. The secluded Ironwood Beach was walking distance from the resort, which is where I shot the surfers at sunset in the photo above while watching the sunset. You could hear the birds chirping away throughout the day, and the luscious grounds of the Ritz provided a great backdrop for my photos.

Even the day before my arrival, the island was experiencing some rain. I was so thankful that it did not rain at all during my stay, but it was cool enough at night that I could wear my favorite kind of outfit.. a luxe sweater and comfortable denim with a scarf as my accessory. I purchased all the clothing items at Nordstrom during the Anniversary Sale.

Here are some beauty essentials I brought with me. I posted this picture on Instagram and many of you requested details, so here they are! Some new, some old.. either way, these are my new mainstays in my travel bag:

I'll wrap up today's post with Maui's spectacular cotton candy sunset. After spending a few days on the island, I can barely believe that Thanksgiving is almost here, which means Christmas is right around the corner! Wishing you all a Haute Holiday and lots of good cheer xo
