And the travel begins!! I will be headed to Bali in a week, so I bought a new carry-on duffle bag because I am committed to traveling as minimally as possible this year. For once, I packed it neatly and organized my skin care, makeup, and accessories into pouches so I figured I would share it! I once used to cram as much product into my carry-on as possible, but in general, I wear less makeup and I finally learned to bring only what I truly need. I hope this inspires you to pack less, too!

The start of this new year has been interesting to say the least. From moving (again) to health and fitness to makeup, I feel that so much of my life has changed, and for the better. My skin is nowhere near perfect, but it improved greatly in 2015 and I am proud of the progress. Since I am finally free of cystic breakouts and purple welts, I love going sheer and weightless when it comes to my base makeup!

The holidays are my favorite time of year to get dressed up, but it can be hard to find time or inspiration because there's always too much to do! I tried to show you a look that can be done quickly but still look amazing in pictures without looking too dramatic in real life. Although there are a lot of concealers and prep involved because of brightening up the complexion, I thought it was necessary to demonstrate all the steps because many of us are sick and/or sleep deprived right now!

As stated in the introduction, I used several new products that I ordered from Sephora. It's always difficult to use products for the first time on camera, but the risk paid off this time because the Surratt products I chose this round are phenomenal. His lip products I've tried in the past were average at best (too drying), but the Surratt brow pencil and highlighter really surprised me!
