REVIEW | REN Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask and Radiance Perfection Serum

In case you haven't noticed I've been experimenting more with natural and clean skin care this year, but REN is one of the only brands that I have found effective.  Since I struggle with acne scarring and discolorations, I decided to try the Radiance Perfection Serum and Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask. Each is $55 and the REN website offers free shipping on orders over $60 with two free samples with every order.  This duo makes me happy because I know I'm doing my skin a favor by giving it a healthy break, reviews after the jump!

The serum is ideal for all skin types, but a common concern with this formula is that it dries down a little sticky.  My esthetician uses a product with a finish like this REN serum after my lactic peels, so I didn't notice anything unusual since I am used to it!  Just give it a minute or two to fully absorb and finish with a moisturizer and sunscreen and the tacky feeling will subside, I promise.  You'll be left with smooth plump glowing skin that is ready for makeup.

I have only used this in the mornings or immediately after using the mask, but it is concentrated enough to still give me results.  I can visibly see that my skin is less ruddy and more even in tone. There isn't a drastic difference on my older acne scars since it has only been three weeks.  This Radiance Perfection Serum, however, truly works well for a product that is free of pore-blocking petrochemicals, silicones, parabens and other harmful synthetic ingredients.  It is a great blend of vitamin c and hyaluronic acid and smells slightly herbaceous with a touch of citrus.

I highly recommend this Radiance Perfection Serum to those with sensitive and normal to dry complexions looking to improve skin elasticity and help lighten any sun damage or hyperpigmentation.  Freshly exfoliated will yield better results!  Don't limit the absorption of any skin care product with dead skin and gunk; slough away before applying treatments.

REN's Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask was right up my alley because I normally get a professional strength lactic peel after manual exfoliation and extractions with my esthetician.  I had high hopes just based off the ingredient list, and I was thrilled with the formula at first use.  I love that I can prolong the results of my facial in just 10 minutes, and it is natural so I can use it without worrying about drying out my complexion.

This mask is particularly recommended for congested skin, which is perfect for my fit lifestyle since I don't always have time to wash my face right after I'm done working out.  I've noticed this has led to a lot more blackheads and oil deposits and clogged pores so masking is no longer optional.  REN's Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask resurfaces my skin without irritating it thanks to the naturally derived fruit extracts.  The glycolic acid is sourced from pineapple, the lactic acid from passion fruit, citric acid from lemon, with Omega 3 and Omega 7 from Arctic blackcurrant seed oil.

These bio actives respect the skin yet are powerful enough to improve the look and feel of my skin so I use it 2x a week after a heavy sweat session — immediately when possible.  I cleanse, exfoliate, then mask for 10 minutes, and finish with the serum and rest of my routine.  My skin is firmer and brighter, even my pores look smaller.  If you have delicate or easily reactive skin, add a few drops of your favorite oil/serum and only use it once a week!
