HAUL | Collective Fall 2016 Beauty Loot from Chanel, Armani, Dior

Fall collections have rolled out in perfect timing with my Southeast Asian vacation! A few of my closest girlfriends planned this vacation months ago, but I've actually been stressed out about it because I've been so busy lately! To decompress a little, I swung by Nordstrom to pick up some new color and stock up on essentials. I’m so pleased with everything that I chose that I had to share!

The Chanel Rouge No1 Collection isn’t something that caught my eye immediately, but when I stopped by the counter, I knew I had to bring it home. Since chopping my hair off, I have been wearing smoky eyes more often so the Candeur Et Experience Eyeshadow Quad was right up my alley. The satiny smooth neutrals with a punchy burgundy makes for a lovely fall inspired eye whether you’re looking for a clean polished look or a smoldering layered look. Unfortunately, the Nordstrom SA had sold the last one right before I arrived so she overnight shipped one to me. Three cheers for excellent service!

There were two matte red Rouge Allure Velvet Lipsticks that launched this Fall, but I chose the blue based Rouge Charnel shade. As much as I prefer orange-based reds, I decided I needed to shake up my routine a bit since I’ve been wearing so many warm reds, oranges, and corals lately. Also, blue-based reds make my teeth look noticeably whiter! The nail polish for this season is actually a gloss, not a traditional opaque lacquer. It's called Rouge Radical and unfortunately, is sold out on the website so you'll have to track it down in stores. Chanel’s (relatively) new gel nail polish formula is super long wearing but I actually like this translucent orange! It isn’t neon which makes it appropriate during the day, and dries down quickly. No top coat required.

Armani released a series of fluid eyeshadows in neutral brown hues for pre-Fall and Nordstrom was the first to receive them. I examined the tester of the Sepia highlighter, but the Matte Eye Tint in 23 felt like a more practical choice since I’m wearing eye makeup regularly again. I love how touchable the creamy formula feels after it dries down, but it doesn’t move much so even those with oily eyelids should be able to use these. I have normal lids and I only had to blend out my creases once toward the end of the day when wearing it alone. For best results, I would top with a powder eyeshadow to deepen the crease for a low maintenance work look.

Now, Dior’s Fall Collection and Nordstrom-exclusive collections are quite pretty and actually practical, but I only walked away with the Lip GLow Pomade Color Reviver Instant Oil Gel Care. I am a big fan of YSL’s Tint in Oil, but I have a fondness for Dior’s Lip Glow color technology so I wanted to give this entirely new formula a whirl. It is a lip balm and less like a lip gloss, which I prefer for Fall. The squeeze tube packaging is convenient, a bonus while traveling. I don’t like to use multiple lip products when I’m on the go as I’m prone to losing them, so a multi-tasker that can adequately provide both color and moisture is the way to go!

Last but not least, I had to stock up on my favorite Holy Grail can't-live-without-it Cle de Peau Concealer. I picked up Amande as well as Ocher this time around since I am unusually tan and will probably continue to tan as I vacation near the tropics. I have dabbled with other formulas throughout the years but nothing cover my imperfections as efficiently and as naturally as Cle de Peau’s stick concealer. Part of my job is to track down the latest and greatest, but this concealer is one of the cult classics that I wouldn’t be able to live without! I use Amande in the center of my face and Ochre on my forehead and chin.
