TRAVEL: My Epic Asia Exclusives Beauty HAUL!

Judging by the list below, I lost all inhibition but left no room for regrets! It was my first time abroad so I was a little overwhelmed by the incredibly vast selection in Singapore, where makeup counters are aplenty and luxury seems to be the standard for beauty. I had saved up for months, so I was in shopping heaven with the multiple department stores [Takashimaya, Tang's, Isetan, etc.] and took full advantage of the situation. I must also thank my lovely friend Leanne for guiding me though the maze of malls and for treating me to such delicious food!

There were also several products I did not have time to include, mostly because they are not exclusives and are more easily accessible here in the United States. Pictured above is the new YSL Souffle D'Eclat Loose Powder in 3 ($60 USD) and the Summer 2014 Guerlain Sun Celebration Terracotta Bronzer and Blush Palette ($76 USD)

The Shu Uemura Rouge Unlimited Supreme Matte Lipstick in PK 376 became a bestseller due to a Korean actress who wore the color in a popular Korean drama, and it sold out completely. I, however, was lucky enough to spot it at the Narita Airport's Duty-Free cosmetics store in Japan! It was unfortunately obscured by all the other products on my desk, so I was not able to include it in the video.. my apologies!

The other products, like the Shu Uemura Premium a/i Cleansing Oil — can be ordered online — and the Clarins Water Comfort One-Step Cleansing Water ($35 USD) is available at department stores. Last but not least, the Lancome Absolu Essence/Serum Foundation in 130 Ivoire is another Asia exclusive that I had to cut out due to time constraints. I have heard hit and miss reviews of this product, but it is one of the few full coverage serum foundations available! I will keep you updated if any of you are interested xo

  1. OMG Rae - So envious! Great video. Really interested to hear what you think of the SKII Asia exclusives especially the cream foundation. Also would love to see how you use the Shu glitter eyeshadows (I love Shu eyeshadows!!!). AND - can't wait to hear what you think of your new brushes. Amazing vid - so fun to watch, now I'm lemming. :o)

    1. Yes, it's 420.. their most popular shade!

  5. That lippie looks amazing. All those lip colors the actress wore are impossible to find from that drama!

  6. Since you love Japanese brushes so much, you should check out this blog:

    http://sweetmakeuptemptations.com/

She's very informative and was personally invited to Hakuhodo and possibly Koyudo as well, I don't quite remember. I've been using her site as a reference for great Japanese brushes and she actually purchases from cdjapan, since they're an official koyudo distributor.

I thought you might enjoy looking through her blog for more information. I was skeptical of sites that shipped koyudo to the U.S. as well until I read her blog.

Anyways, hope it helps. If you still don't trust those sort of sites, it's understandable, but as a collector, you could be missing out :)

    1. Yes, I'm well aware of her blog! I realize that cdjapan is an official distributor, but there aren't too many Koyudo brushes I am interested in. I definitely prefer Hakuhodo, and I love that I can see and feel the brushes in person before purchasing! I don't necessarily collect brushes even though I do hunt down cult favorites like SUQQU, but I may make exceptions for LE Koyudos in the future!

    1. I'm just hoping I got the right shade! I inquired whether Shu Uemura plans to bring the Lightbulb compact over to the US any time soon, but no one knows for sure.. I'll update you one both once I get a chance to try them! I am currently testing the Laneige BB Cushion still, so I have the others on queue!

  9. I think the packaging for the Chanel Vitalumiere powder foundation is different in Europe vs. Asia. I so happened the catch your video the night before flying home from Europe, and got the foundation at the Venice airport. The pouch doesn't have the elastic band and no brush (which would be nice for touchups b/c I'm not a fan of sponges). Thanks for the recommendation! It is such a smooth powder!

    1. So glad you were able to pick up the powder! I'm sorry it doesn't have the elastic band.. it's actually the only velvet pouch I ever bother using! I hope you can make it to Asia to pick up another soon. I am so glad I purchased back-ups because I've been using mine daily!

    2. Mine also doesn't have the brush. So sad :(
