Giorgio Armani Gloss D'Armani in Pink 503 Review, Photos, Swatches, FOTD

I have been loving the Giorgio Armani Gloss D'Armani, $28, this past month. I had passed on purchasing these Armani glosses when they first launched early last year, but that was a terrible mistake. These glosses are incredibly moisturizing and leave my dry lips healthier and softer. I know it is hard to believe, but these tend to function more as a lip balm for me. The thick, shimmery gloss effect is an added "pretty" bonus!

Most of the wearable shades are sheer or relatively sheer, but I do not mind because the formula is so long-wearing! All of the shades have a generous amount of shimmer, but the formula does not feel gritty in any way. The Gloss D'Armani is thin and light upon application, but just like the YSL Glossy Stains, thickens up like a liquid lipstick almost immediately and provides a jelly, cushy lip look. It does feel a bit tacky after it sets completely, but rest assured, it is not entirely sticky. I get at least 5 hours of comfortable wear, extraordinary time for a relatively sheer gloss, and there is no scent or taste that I could detect. The long, chiseled doe foot applicator is slanted and easy to use on the go.

503 is a soft mauve pink with silver shimmer and sparkle, a shade I initially considered returning because it didn't do much for my lips. It is actually a match for my natural lip color, so it is perfect for the everyday natural face looks when I do not want to attract much attention to my lips. I now adore it, and wear it regularly. It will probably pull more pink and less mauve on very fair, pink-toned skin and lips.

*Sorry, I can't quite recall what make-up I was wearing that day.. just the gloss!

Bottom Line: The Gloss D'Armani in 503 is not too sheer, not too pigmented. It is a wonderful every day gloss with a long-lasting (aka low maintenance) formula, and I cannot wait to add more to my meager collection of three. I might even be brave enough to try some of the deeper shades one day!
