TUTORIAL | K-Beauty Straight Eyebrow Tips + Wayne Goss The Brow Set

I've recently made the transition to straight brows! Many of you have left comments on YouTube and Instagram telling me how much you love the change, so I filmed a tutorial to show you how I've flattened my arch to mimic the signature K-beauty look.

My eyebrows are naturally faint and sparse and grow very slowly, so creating a straight shape is still an ordeal. Luckily, the Wayne Goss Brow Set and Shu Uemura's iconic eyebrow makeup makes the transformation possible! More tips and tricks after the jump!

I'm still practicing and learning every day, but I feel as though I'm getting the hang of it. I feel more confident and do not dread it as much! Seeing a few Korean makeup artists show me their balancing techniques on my brows has made the process far less intimidating. After all, I've been designing and filling in arched brows for years. My muscle memory still kicks in now and again, so I have to squash all my instincts and consciously create every stroke!

If you have arched brows as I do, the key is to level out the shape. Add more height to the front of the brow and create more weight under the arch. You can use pomade to create the illusion of hair if you're bald in that particular area. Extra length is essential to a sophisticated K-beauty brow, so draw in a straight horizontal line toward your temple. This step was the hardest for me because it's second nature to drag down to the top of the ear.

I hope this tutorial will help inspire you to try the youthful Korean brow trend! I wasn't sure how I felt about the straight shape at first, but I've come to love it. I figured it was due time for a change. Now that I'm nearly 27, hearing that I look younger is both a frightening and welcome compliment! Thank you for all your continued support and encouragement during #asiaweekxraeview

The tutorial video below will show you exactly how I use the tools and how I flatten my arch. If you're interested in learning more about Wayne's new brush trio, please listen up for the review after the tutorial section! They're beautifully hand-crafted Japanese brushes, and the quality is top-notch!

Sometimes the brows will come out thicker and sometimes they're thinner or longer depending on the day.. like I mentioned, I'm still working on perfecting the process! Hope you find it helpful nonetheless xo
