Laura Mercier Candleglow Collection + Kajal D'Orient Reviews, Photos, Swatches

Many Holiday offerings have rolled out already, but I wanted to slow down the pace with a few more new releases. Laura Mercier is holding a Friends and Family Sale right now, so I wanted to focus on her latest Candleglow Collection and trendy take on eyeliner. Check out the swatches of these fall releases after the jump!

The Candleglow Luminizing Palette is on the smaller end, so it is ideal for travel or a daily makeup bag. This light-infused dimensional palette is all about natural yet polished glowing skin, which is great for those who prefer the "no makeup" makeup style. I think the two highlighting blushes are the best in the palette since they provide just enough color, but it also includes four shimmery eyeshadows that will never go out of style.

I love the Radiance cheek highlighter because it adds a brightness to my warm complexion. It isn't overly shimmery and does not accentuate my pores, so I pop this on the apples of my cheeks for a girly flush. The Glimmer shade is more like a peachy bronzer on my light-medium coloring, so I like to wear this shade high up on the tops of my cheekbones and angle down toward the corners of my lips to create a contoured illusion.

Since the eyeshadows are on the sheerer end of the spectrum, try layering them with the cheek highlighters! I like to mix Spark and Radiance or Light with Glimmer to amp up the pigmentation and glow factor. Twinkle has the best pigmentation of the four shadows, and it is one lovely gold. It's not obnoxiously metallic so it is still appropriate enough to wear to work. Light is the best all-over eye shade. Glow has the most glitter, so I recommend wearing this on your lower lash lines or in the inner corners to make the eyes appear larger.

I also love that Laura included a cute little tip card with face charts. The most valuable piece of advice that she gave was to "focus 'radiant' products on the high points of the face.. [to] ensure you look radiant, not shiny or oily." This means avoiding your under eye area and jawline, etc. Too much glow can be distracting, so stick to the tops of the cheekbones and bridge of the nose.

Now for my favorite part of the Candleglow collection, the Lip Glacés! They're both subtle and ladylike, much less glitzy as they appear in their tubes. These Rose Gold Accent and Bronze Gold Accent shades can be worn alone or layered over lipstick. My favorite combination currently is the Rose Gold on top of the Lip Parfait Creamy Colourbalm Lipstick in Raspberry Ripple (now 20% OFF for Laura Mercier's Friends & Family Sale). The mauve base of the lipstick really enhances the pink and champagne glitter in the Lip Glacé and helps the lips look fuller, too!

The formula of these Accent lip glosses is more like a gel than the standard Lip Glacé, so I highly recommend them if you have dry lips! Mine are ultra sensitive and constantly peeling, but the Rose Gold Accent gloss keeps them nice and moisturized with a hint of color. The swatches below do not do these gorgeous Lip Glacés justice, but difference between Rose Gold and Bronze is more noticeable.
When layered on the lips — approximately three swipes — you can see the difference in tone. The Bronze Accent feel softer and wears like a nude despite the gold shimmer, while the Rose Gold looks more girly due to the rosy-pink jelly base.

Last but not least, here is the new Kajal d'Orient! These kajal style eyeliners feature a unique shape that makes tightlining easier. It does not irritate my eyes whatsoever and glides across the water line like a dream, but unfortunately, this Noir Supreme shade smudges on me. I have found, however, that this kajal eyeliner works very well as a base for my eyeshadows or smoked out along the top of my lashes! The key is to set with a powder after blending.

I have been enjoying Laura Mercier's new releases, but without a doubt, my favorite has been the Rose Gold Accent gloss! I adore the color, the texture, the versatility. If you buy one lipgloss this Fall, make it a Lip Glacé because you'll be able to use it day or night!
