WHAT'S IN MY BAG | Proenza Schouler PS1 Medium Handbag Review + Guide

After featuring my Proenza Schouler PS1 Medium satchel in my Tokyo travel vlog and in the background of many recent videos, I was flooded with requests for a review! I did not expect to film another What's In My Bag video so soon, but I suppose my Saint Laurent Nano Sac du Jour isn't practical enough for most. The PS1 Medium, on the other hand, is the perfect everyday bag because it is so roomy and functional! I carry it almost every day. More details after the jump!

Entirely Unclasped
The Proenza Schouler PS1 in Medium is a roomy leather handbag with logo-jacquard fabric lining, mostly all made in Italy. The leather is ultra soft and supple but still durable. A couple weeks ago, a waiter dropped piping hot coffee all over it! All we did was wipe the bag down immediately with a cloth napkin, and it looked as good as new. My Chanel, Celine or even my Saint Laurent bags would definitely not survive such damage. I can't stop raving about the PS1 Medium because it has quickly become my go-to handbag!

More importantly, I feel that the PS1 is an iconic yet subtle, low-key luxury bag. It looks well made and the stylish is recognizable to those who carry Proenza Schouler handbags, but it does not scream "designer" the way Louis Vuitton does. I dress casually most days, so I don't have to think too hard about pairing it with "the right outfit" or worry too much about scratching it while I'm carrying it. Plus there are two open compartments and three zippered pockets so there is room for all your essentials and much more!

IN MY BAG

Chanel Coin Zip Pouch (SIMILAR)
Closys Breath Spray
Dolce&Gabbana Light Blue

Makeup: Shu Uemura False Lashes // Tom Ford Gold Dust Bronzer // LancĂ´me Lipstick in 357 // MAC Dazzle Shadow in Pink // Burberry Glow Shadow in Shell // Clinique Brow Pencil in Soft Brown // Clinique Brow Mousse in Soft Brown // Clinique Chubby Highlighter // Burberry Foundation in 4 + 5 // LORAC Liquid Liner
Sweater: COMMES DES GARÇONS // Nail Polish: CHANEL // Denim: MADEWELL

I almost always use the optional long strap, either on my shoulder or as a cross body as shown in the video (since I'm short), but I like to carry it on my arm when I leave the front clasp open. It gives off an effortless vibe that cannot be achieved with other bags. Of course, it looks much more polished and refined when both perforated straps and flip-lock clasp are neatly tucked in and secured, but how I wear it is dictated by the occasion!

The only regret I have is not purchasing it in the color I initially gravitated toward. I wanted the Military Green, but since Smoke is a classic neutral tone, so I went the safer route. I may purchase a suede version soon because I love this bag so much!! I like the Tobacco version, but I have my eye on the new Pepe color with silver hardware below because it would be less maintenance — more specifically, show stains less.

The PS1 is available in the Wallet on ChainCross Body Pouch, Mini/Tiny, Medium, Large, and Extra Large sizes. It's also available in the Clutch and Backpack styles, which are both very stylish! I love that Proenza Schouler offers so many variations, like suede or fringed or even metallic. There is a size and color to suit everyone's tastes!
