Shu Uemura Gloss Unlimited in BG 10 S Review, Photos, Swatches

I have always been a fan of Shu Uemura's Rouge Unlimited Shine lipsticks, but I only recently have I had the opportunity to experience the Gloss Unlimited. I was enamored with BG 10 S at first swipe! The unique and innovative rounded sponge-tip applicator makes it easy to add subtle definition to my lip lines, and the plush quality of the gloss is so comforting on my dry lips. Check out the swatches after the jump!

BG 10 S is a neutral nude with shimmer. The color reads far more peach against my light-medium arm than on my mauve-tinged lips. The color is very forgiving and blends well, which makes it easy to pair with almost any lipstick color. Try warmer lipsticks like beiges and peaches for the most natural looks!

The 'S' in the name indicates this particular gloss is shimmery, but this Gloss Unlimited formula has a 3D elastic gel base so the individual shimmer particles do not feel gritty on the lips whatsoever. The fluid, non-sticky cushion of the gel is what won me over. I love that the formula makes my lips look fuller without the tingling or stinging sensation of lip plumpers. It also contains a botanical extract oil for added moisture, which soothes flaking lips remarkably well.

In the photo above, I have layered the Gloss Unlimited in BG 10 S on top of the Shu Uemura Rouge Unlimited Supreme Matte in M BG 942 for a perfect nude-beige lip. The hint of peach in both the lipstick and lip gloss is so flattering because it adds warmth and is not so pale that it washes out my complexion. The wear time of this gloss alone is an average of 3 hours, but I can stretch it to 5 hours when paired with the lipstick (minimal drink, no food).
Bottom Line: I highly recommend you give the Shu Uemura Gloss Unlimited a try, since it's a more affordable alternative to the Giorgio Armani Gloss D'Armani with an even more comforting gel formula!

  1. The gel formula sounds amazing. I wish we could still find Shu counters here in the states! I really want to try the clear medium pink -- PK 50 C.
