TOP 8 | Best of Burberry Review

Since its launch in 2010, Burberry has become one of my favorite designer beauty brands. All the products are beautifully packaged in gunmetal trench patterns and reflect the house's longstanding tradition of glowing skin and flattering color. This beauty lineup will feature my top eight picks that I recommend you try first from this outstanding brand!

Burberry's Complete Eye Palettes ($60 USD) are fairly new to my collection, but they have become my holiday travel essentials! As much as I love my single shadows, they can add bulk to my luggage. I try to keep my makeup bag minimal by packing my Complete Eye Palettes. My favorites are Mocha (above) and Rose Pink (cover photo), which are appropriate for meetings as well as evenings out. I also recommend Pink Taupe. I wear less and less eyeshadow as I age, but the Burberry Complete Eye Palettes make even natural looks more fun to wear. Nine colorways are available at Nordstrom!

The Sheer Eyeshadow singles ($29 USD) are not sheer at all! In fact, my most-worn are very pigmented, long-lasting even without a primer, and supremely easy to blend. Gold Pearl and Trench make excellent highlighters or inner corner brighteners, while Almond and Dark Sable are excellent for definition and/or smoky eyes. Pale Barley, however, is my favorite Sheer Eyeshadow because it has the smoothest shimmery formula that is perfect for wearing alone on days that I am running late.

Burberry's Lip Velvet Long Wear Lipstick ($33 USD) is the newest lipstick launch from Burberry and is quickly becoming my favorite lip color offering from the brand. The Lip Velvet formula is one of the creamiest of the new generation of matte lipsticks to launch this year, so it is more forgiving on ultra dry lips like mine. The pigmentation is phenomenal, and even mauve-pink shades like Peony Rose are quite rich and apply evenly. I also love Military Red for evenings out. All ten shades are available at Nordstrom.

The Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base ($48 USD) is one of the best multi-function foundation primers on the market for normal to dry skin. You can wear this silky hydrating booster on its own or blended with foundation or BB Cream. The best part is that Fresh Glow is now available in two shades, one for fair to medium skin and another for those with medium-tan to dark skin. I actually like to mix in a bit of Golden Radiance to liquid foundations that are too light (for color correction). The pearly formula gives the illusion of brighter, even-toned skin. FYI: If used as a primer on normal skin with a medium to full coverage foundation on top, the glow will peek through the skin after an hour!

The Burberry Fresh Glow BB Cream ($44 USD) is my favorite designer BB Cream. I find that many BB Creams lean too orange for my light-medium complexion and end up looking like a splotchy mess after a few hours. Not Burberry's! It allows my skin glow without looking oily, and the coverage is buildable from sheer to light. Redness will be minimized but freckles will peek through, so I highly recommend this BB to those who prefer the 'real skin' illusion. Those with combination skin should try this product on top of a mattifying primer for best results. I wear Medium 002, but the Fresh Glow BB is available in Fair and Dark as well!

Burberry's latest fragrance release is the My Burberry Eau de Parfum ($95 USD), and it is my new favorite daytime scent. It is sweet yet sophisticated! Perfumes lean strongly fresh and powdery on my dry skin, so it was pleasant surprise when My Burberry's sweet pea and bergamot notes wore true. I adore how distinctive both the scent and packaging are. The heavy glass jar is topped by a trench coat-inspired ribbon and a marbled ring — reminiscent of a classic Burberry button. I live for little details, so I found the packaging's design so charming! Understated yet cohesive. Burberry also offers a monogramming service that makes the scent feel even more personal!

Burberry Nail Polishes ($22 USD each) have a very fluid formula that is easy to work with. It dries quickly and lasts a respectable five days without chipping. Many of these polishes have a plush texture that, with three coats, mimics the look of gel nails. I always pair them with a fast-dry top coat for best results. I love the shades Optic White, Rose Pink (which you will see on my nails in an upcoming video), Pale Grape, and Military Red. Burberry has also released a couple new Holiday colors packaged specially in gold check packaging here!

Burberry's newest launch, the Effortless Eyebrow Defining Pen ($33 USD) has officially launched here in the United States! I discovered this gem while in London, and I even got to see the talented Wendy Rowe working it backstage on Burberry's models. The formula is an excellent balance between creamy and powdery. Even Sepia, the lighter shade, has minimal red tones. I use Ash Brown, which blends better with my naturally grey eyebrow hair. The pigmentation is not overwhelming on fine and sparse brows like mine, but the coverage can be layered for a big, bold brow if that's your preference. You cannot find a better brow pencil at this price!

Burberry Beauty is available at Burberry.com and Nordstrom.com. Happy shopping! xo

    1. Definitely Burberry! I love Tom Ford, but all his brow sculptors lean too red in color.
