Kevyn Aucoin 'Iconic Eye' Look [Winged Eyeliner Tutorial]

Winged eyeliner is my signature makeup style, but I have not dedicated a tutorial to this effortless look in years, which is why today's feature is all about the classics.
I applied Tusk, a nude, on the lids and Rose Quartz, a shimmering rose gold, all over the crease. I've been obsessing over this Loose Shimmer ever since I ordered it from Nordstrom, so I will review the product later this week. I mixed a little bit of the Sculpting Powder, a cool brown, into the crease for definition. Bone, an ivory, was applied on the brow bone and blended in with Rose Quartz for a smooth transitional finish. I finished with one coat of the Volume Mascara and false eyelashes to amp up the look. This look is incredibly flattering but natural enough and appropriate for any occasion. I hope you enjoy the tutorial!

Dior Airflash CC Primer and Airflash Matte Touch Review + Dior Fall 2013 Mystic Metallics Tutorial

Dior's Mystic Metallics Collection is one of the most memorable from 2013 thus far. The colors are sultry without bordering on smoky, so it should appeal to even the most conservative of crowds. The Dior Blushes and Mono eyeshadows have been reformulated, repackaged, and relaunched but I chose to focus on the Fall color showstoppers and the new Sephora- exclusive Airflash products. Some of you have asked me about the Dior Mono Fusion shadows, but I much prefer the richer pigmentation and creamier textures of the Armani Eyes to Kill Silk Shadows and Chanel Illusion d'Ombres.
P.S. Don't forget to check out my review of the lovely Destin nail polish here!

The Dior Airflash CC Primer, $49 USD, is a lightweight spray that brightens dull complexions while evening out the texture of the skin. It is the sheerest, thinnest primer I have ever encountered, but it is very effective and calming on my normal skin. This primer does not color correct as well as other thicker, traditional primers do, but it does make my acne slightly less ruddy. I think dry skins would most appreciate the minerals and hyaluronic acid in this CC Primer formula. Very oily, however, skins may find the 'glow' to look simply greasy by the end of the day so be prepared to blot. This primer absorbs into the skin quickly, leaving a soft and supple canvas to help the Airflash foundation look its best. I don't like to use liquid foundation with this CC primer, just powder foundation and the Airflash.

The Dior Airflash Matte Touch aerosol powder, $49 USD, is an ultra fine mist with sheer coverage intended to set makeup. It comes in one universal shade, though I find that it is ideal for medium complexions if sprayed closer at 4 inches. I recommend spraying at 6 to 8 inches away from the face for best results, but you can spray onto a brush and then apply the product to the skin if that is your preference. The velvety matte finish effectively smooths and perfects the skin while eliminating shine. Matte Touch is very useful for touch-ups throughout the day as well but to conserve product, I recommend using it after the bulk of oil build-up has been removed with a blotting sheet. I have normal skin and this product kept my skin matte for 6 hours.

The Airflash range of products was designed to be used in conjunction with one another, so to achieve the most flawless and photogenic results possible, follow Dior's directions. I truly love the polished look of the Airflash complexion! See my take on Dior's Fall 2013 Color and Complexion below..

Giorgio Armani BRONZE Summer 2013 Makeup Tutorial + Video Details

I love Giorgio Armani makeup. Their products are always top-notch in texture and performance, and though this Summer's collection was tiny, it packed a punch. I cannot wait to try more of the Flash Lacquers, since they are like less sticky and more fluid versions of my beloved Chanel Glossimers. 519 does not have any shimmer, so I will report once I am able to see if the shimmery editions cause any peeling. For now, do check out the makeup tutorial below to see the gorgeous Bronze palette in action and get it before it's gone!

My Morning Routine -- Skin Care with Base Makeup

Today I will be sharing with you a spin on the Get Ready with Me in the Morning Tag video. I chose to keep it shorter than usual and highlight the skin care I have been using. Again, my skin has been experiencing hormonal swings, but the overall clarity of my skin has improved greatly! My cheeks are smoother and more even in color than they have ever been. My forehead and chin have been volatile spots for me, but at least I can positively say they have been very responsive and heal accordingly.

My night time skin care routine video will address more of the products I use to calm my skin, but my morning's skin care routine has positively added that "silky smooth" factor to my complexion that was lacking before. And yes, the Kenzo creams are super lightweight, so they help me maintain my normal T-Zone throughout the day.. highly recommended for those with oily skin or for those who prefer thinner (yet highly effective) moisturizers!

Tom Ford Beauty Summer 2013 'Sultry Sublime Glow' Makeup Tutorial + Video Details

Many thanks go out tonight for all those who have patiently awaited the release of my Tom Ford Summer 2013 Makeup Review and Tutorial video! This is not the traditional heavy false lash and deeply contoured makeup look that I tend to wear in my videos, so I hope this (brief) departure will be welcomed by most of you. The colors of the products used in the video below can be built up. I, however, chose to wear them subtly because I wanted to emphasize the glowing nature of the emollients. This collection is very special because it is wearable yet unique. I hope you will agree!

Tom Ford says that he had one goal with this collection. He "wanted to capture a very particular look of skin that is bathed in sunset light in the summer. It is a sultry and sublime glow. In this light, every woman looks irresistibly relaxed and sensual." I love ethereal glows without apparent shimmer, so I had high expectations for these new products (the Illuminator in particular). Please see individual product reviews and all swatches HERE!

Luminous Skin and Fresh Color for Spring 2013 Makeup Tutorial Details

I mixed things up a bit with this Spring makeup tutorial. First of all, I used short but dense lashes. That hasn't happened in ages because I am dedicated to BIG false lashes! Then I decided on a dolly blush effect with juicy pink lips and of course, a clean canvas of luminous skin. As much as I love the matte and bronzed skin look, I find that the luminous skin look is more appropriate for Spring weather. The eyes contributed to the fresh element of the makeup up with a warm, but light, range of shades from the latest Chanel Hong Kong Collection. We hope you enjoy the look and the photos!

Chanel CC Cream Review, Comparisons, Swatches + Application Tutorial Video

Chanel CC Cream Correction Complete SPF 30 ml

What is CC Cream?

The new Chanel Complexion Complete CC Cream is the part of the newest crop of skin performance products, CC cream. The 'CC' in CC cream supposedly stands for color correct, and there are only a handful of these products available. Most notably the Chanel, since it is quite difficult to procure, the Olay drugstore version since it is the only one easily accessible to Americans, and the Rachel K version that is most popular in Asia, especially with those who are too tan for the Chanel version.

COOKING TUTORIAL: Eat Clean/Burn Fat Food Regimen + Meal Prep Video Details

So here is my new eat clean [bodybuilder pre-competition style] food regimen! Again, you DO NOT want to eat like this all year round. This is just to kick start the road to my 6-pack :) It is very hard not to cheat on this kind of regimen, but you can allow yourself a couple indulgences on the weekend so long as you do extra cardio to make up for them! After the first week of adjusting to the lower carb level, my body has never felt more energetic.. and I go to the gym at LEAST four times a week. I lift heavy AND do cardio (both in the PM, as I dislike morning work outs). It might be overkill for some, but it's the best way to see results fast. Like I said, I was down to 100 pounds after two weeks..even if that was just my AM weight hehe. So now I am back on the diet to shed my Thanksgiving cheat week weight, and I will not be cheating until the end of December! Hope this video inspired you to start eating cleaner, and gave you some ideas as to where you can start :)

YSL Holiday '12 Northern Lights Makeup Collection + Video Details

I love the vivid colors in the YSL Holiday make-up collection and hope you will, too! Some people complain about the lack of pigmentation in designer beauty products, but you will not be able to leverage that complaint against these beautifully executed palettes from YSL this season. When wet, the shadows last ALL day while maintaining their vibrancy! Hope you enjoy the review and this fun twist on the standard smoky eye for the holidays :)

What Mr. Simmonds, the Creative Makeup Director of YSL Beaute had to say about the collection:  "During my childhood I was fascinated by the northern lights – also known as Aurora borealis – with its incredible vitality and color, which can never forget in life. You inspired me to this collection with exceptionally bright colors, laced with violet and midnight-blue hues and dotted with pearl highlights … like a grand night sky!"

Chanel Holiday 2012 Makeup Review + Tutorial Video Details

Hello, everyone! This is probably the longest collection review + tutorial duo video that I have produced in ages. But there was a lot to be said, so many questions to address that I could not afford to leave out. Please note, if you did not properly hear during the review.. Notorious is officially my favorite contouring powder. It might be a satin finish powder, but it is so versatile! D&G's Tan would be my next favorite contouring product for everyday use since that can actually be used as a blush. It just depends on your preferences, but both products should work on all fair and medium to medium tan skin tones! Happy shopping :)

P.S. I didn't even mention the limited edition gold Illusion D'Ombre from this collection because it was very sheer. It fell short of my expectations, for it was missing the lush mousse texture of the Mirifique or Epatant Illusion D'Ombres.

Sultry, Sexy Clubbing Make-up with Winged Glitter Eye Liner [Kim Kardashian Inspired] Tutorial Video Details

I've received a lot of requests for a dramatic smoky nighttime/clubbing look in the Kim Kardashian vein, and I have delivered! I'm just hoping you guys like the finished look :) It's dark and quite heavy on the eyes, but well balanced, and the best thing about this look is that it's relatively easy! Just make sure to blend well. This is my take on a long-lasting special occasion smoky eye that works for any outfit or coloring. You can substitute any of the products used, go warmer or cooler, but the Chanel Mirifique is gorgeous used as liner or eyeshadow.. a very worthy investment to amp up your make-up wardrobe!
