REVIEW | Shu Uemura x Murakami Holiday 2016

Takashi Murakami is one of the most celebrated Japanese artists in the world. He collaborated with Shu Uemura for their Holiday 2013 collection, so I have been waiting season after season to see another masterpiece theme! This Holiday 2016 release is all about cosmic love, making this colorful and cheerful collection worth sharing. Check out my top picks after the jump!

The iconic Murakami flowers are meant to represent blooming flowers of hope in this Shu Uemura collection. The look of innocence on those wide-eyed, beaming faces is so uplifting, perfectly themed for the Holiday season! I think the 4-piece Brush Set and the matte black Lash Curler are the best options for gifting purposes, which is why I wanted to show you pictures of these first.

The Bossa-Nova Eye Trio eyeshadow palettes have less traditional shades than what we have normally come to expect from Holiday collections, which I appreciate! I can only tolerate so much gold and brown. The warmer palette is the ideal trio for me because it is still wearable and can be mixed with other neutrals to make it office appropriate! I love that I can layer the champagne glitter with orange for a more traditional fall look or darken the lids with purple and add an interesting pop of depth with the orange.

If you don't wear makeup but are addicted to the Shu Uemura cleaning oils, order yourself some of the new Anti-Oxi Clarifying formula! We can all use back-ups of this awesome makeup removing cleanser, especially if you use a lot of waterproof eyeliner and mascara. Plus the cosmic flower packaging makes a sweet gift that is ideal for the holidays!

I have five different lipsticks to share with you, in multiple formulations. Check out the video above for live swatches! My favorites are the semi-transparent cherry Rouge Unlimited Sheer Shine in S RD 164 and my lips-but-better Unlimited in WN 255, but I also enjoy wearing the slightly orange-red tone of the Rouge Unlimited Sheer Shine in Rouge Bloom. The glitters don't irritate my lips unlike other shimmery formulas, but they do make my lips look instantly fuller and glossier which I'm sure some of you will love!

And how cute is the packaging? Some come with red and white and the others come with pink and white. I also adore the packaging of the limited edition Drawing Pencils. The silver and gold flower motifs are etched into the wood, which is a luxurious touch! Comet Brown and Black Purple are in the metallic formula while the Black and Navy come in the matte finish.
