NY Fashion Week F/W 2015 Photo Diary

As many of you may have noticed, I braved the intimidating New York winter to attend Fashion Week! I was fortunate enough to attend a few shows and even pop backstage as well, so please do take a look at some of the beautiful moments captured after the jump!

Burberry A/W 2015 Runway | The Perfect Wearable, Modern Smoky Eye Makeup Look + Tutorials

Burberry has just released the most incredible smoky eye look for their Autumn/Winter Runway Show! We tend to think of traditional smoky eyes as ultra heavy on black kohl and glitter, but Burberry's rendition is as classy and wearable as could be. Wendy Rowe described the eye makeup as an "impression" of a smoky eye, a modern and edgy take. Though the color is sheerer, the smoky iridescent charcoal has so much impact! Her tip was to avoid going too dark on the upper lash line to prevent making the eyes look smaller. If you have narrow almond eyes as I do, avoid lining too close to the lower inner corner. I rarely layer eyeliner with powder eyeshadow on my lower lash line, so this is a departure from my standard eye look, but I think the overall makeup is genius! This is the kind of smoky eye makeup I could wear every single day. It's easy and surprisingly natural. I normally tend to stay away from this kind of casual, slightly smudged look (only 1 coat of mascara! gasp), but it just goes to show how fun it can be to switch up your routine and push the boundaries of your comfort zone! Many thanks to Burberry and Wendy Rowe for allowing me a preview of this gorgeous makeup and don't forget to watch the show live, here on the blog below! xo

P.S. The Cadet Green nail polish is divine! It's literally the best khaki nail polish I have ever worn. The formula is perfect in two standard coats.

Spring 2015 Haul | Clothing, Tom Ford, MAC x Toledo, NARS Face + Eyes

This month has been such a whirlwind, and it's not even over! I was in NYC for Fashion Week for several days, so I will chronicle my adventures in a photo diary and share it tomorrow. I was not able to shop much while I was there, thanks to my hectic schedule and the icy wind, but here is a quick haul to tide you over in the meantime! I promise to wrap up that epic Japan haul (THREE, SUQQU, Addiction, and Ladurée) and post it as soon as I return from my next adventure. I am leaving sunny Southern California for cold weather one last time this season, and I'm so excited! Can you guess my next destination?

Tom Ford Spring 2015 Creme Color For Eyes Review, Photos, Swatches

The new Tom Ford Spring 2015 Creme Color For Eyes has finally been released! It is part of the Spring Summer 2015 Runway look and can now be purchased on Tom Ford's website or via NeimanMarcus.com (where all three shades are available). I already used the Spring 2015 Creme Color in an upcoming tutorial as an eyeshadow base for one of my favorite Tom Ford Eye Color Quads, but since the video won't launch for a couple weeks, I will share swatches here. Check them out after the jump!

HAUL | Hakuhodo, Japan (Makeup Brushes and Accessories)

I still haven't found time to photograph all my beauty acquisitions from Japan, but I did manage to shoot my Hakuhodo haul. Even though my trip to Japan was a whirlwind of events, I made it my mission to visit the Hakuhodo showroom in Omotesando, Tokyo, and I am so glad I did! The showroom is neat and pristine — consistent with the Hakuhodo tradition. The selection at IMATS is always impressive, but the entire Hakuhodo lineup was truly a sight to behold. I was in heaven! Check out the details after the jump xo

Dior Spring 2015 Kingdom of Colors Review, Photos, Swatches

In my travels, I have noticed that Dior consistently creates a handful of Asia exclusive products with every collection. When I was browsing the duty free selection, I immediately gravitated towards the Fairy Grey single eyeshadow. It is smoky but translucent, full of iridescent glitter, and can be applied wet for full impact color. You really can't get more versatile than that! If you have a friend or family member who travels, I highly recommend asking him/her to pick this eyeshadow up for you. Now since the eye look is more dramatic and reflective, I wanted to add balance with very subtle cheeks and false lashes. I also kept the skin more natural, opting for a loose powder instead of my usual powder foundation. I did, however, layer two very glossy lip colors for full impact! Mylord is the perfect My-Lips-But-Better shade for most of us with light to medium complexions, while Tiara is the epitome of Asian makeup (sheer and sparkly). I hope you enjoy the look! xo

My 2015 Lunar New Year Goals + GIVEAWAY

The Lunar New Year is fast approaching, and 2015 is the Year of the Goat! In celebration of the event, I decided to share my resolutions and goals for this year. Many on you have realized I have lost quite a bit of weight since November 2014 (over 10 pounds), and I have steadily worked towards it by eating healthier day to day. I also control my junk food and sweet tooth cravings without completely depriving my taste buds. I eat a clean, balanced diet with luxurious little treats throughout the week — especially during that time of the month — and cook at home from scratch as much as possible. I am still working on incorporating regular exercise, but I hope to reach that goal very soon!

I also plan to travel more this year, but I have made it a goal to become a more efficient traveler. I used to feel very anxious about flights and pack in extreme excess, especially my beauty products. Now, I have learned (and am still learning) how to pack lighter using multi-functional products like Hourglass' new Equilibruim Face Oil and a passport holder that also functions as a wallet! These little changes have decreased my stress less while traveling. I've also learned how to best take care of my skin during flights, so I think that helps me relax more comfortably as well.

My last goal is to fix my sleeping schedule, which has been a constant work in progress for years. Jetlag can feel pretty miserable, but I have been combating it with stretching and casual yoga at home whenever possible. I hope to sleep by 10:30 and wake up at 6:30, but I know that it is more realistic to plan for 11:30 to 7:30 at the moment. No matter how healthy I eat, I realize that an abnormal sleeping schedule throws off my body's rhythm. I really want to boost my productivity and creativity this year, and that starts with better sleeping habits!

Now it's your turn to share! Share your #YoGoatGoals with me on Instagram, and you'll be entered to win the limited edition Goat Chocolate Collection! Just snap a photo representing your goals and use the hashtag #YoGoatGoals to enter to win. The Lunar New Year Year of GODIVA giveaway held here on the blog, however, is the grand prize — a year's worth of GODIVA's legendary chocolates!

I try to limit myself to one piece of chocolate every couple days, so I've been gobbling down the 3 limited edition goat piece flavors first. The Chrysanthemum and Ginger white chocolate is an unusual confectionary combination, but as a ginger fan, I find it truly memorable. I admit I was a bit hesitant about the Gui Flower and Ginseng milk chocolate, but it may be my favorite of the bunch! I love the way the flavor combination hits all my taste buds. The Jasmine and Angelica Root flavor is delicate but still has presence while allowing the 72% chocolate to shine. The other 14 chocolates in the Lunar New Year Collection Collection box features GODIVA's other luscious Belgian chocolates, so you get a taste of new exotics as well as traditional classics.

Do swing by a GODIVA (store locator here) to treat yourself to these lovely chocolates. GODIVA online is also offering some more beautifully packaged Lunar New Year Gifts, so keep them in mind when shopping for your family and friends! Good luck with the giveaways xo

Benefit Cosmetics Roller Lash Mascara Review

Blogger has been warping my photos during upload, translating too green or too orange but yes, I did have galactic violet hair for nearly 24 hours! It was so much fun while it lasted. I, however, decided to vamp it up with a black cherry shade that feels more like me. Since my hair was lightened to achieve the vibrant color above, my hair will fade more purple as the weeks go by. It will surely be an interesting journey!

Now, I'm sure many of you have heard by now, but the Mystery Mascara that I reviewed a few weeks ago has finally been revealed! Benefit Cosmetics is the genius behind the innovative new Roller Lash Mascara, and I really have been loving its long-wearing, non-smudging formula and deep rich black color. Once it sets, the curl hold actually does power through the day! Plus the new hook and roll brush is very slim, making it particularly ideal for mascara application on my fine, super sparse lower lashes. More details regarding the brush can be found in the video! xo

Some of these are more budget friendly and others are substantial splurges, but all of them are true gems. All details after the jump!
