TUTORIAL: Sophisticated Spring 2015 Makeup Look (Drugstore)

This natural, sophisticated Spring 2015 look is inspired by my recent trip to Japan! Many of the women in Tokyo were sporting bright pink blush, sheer glossy lips, and glowing skin with almost unreal clarity, which inspired me to recreate the look for you! Since the final result reminded me of the delicate budding sakura flowers — otherwise known as cherry blossoms — I decided it would be a suitable name for this tutorial. Best of all, the products used in this tutorial are affordable! Since I am only able to film a few drugstore videos each year, I know how much my teenage and college-aged viewers look forward to these. I hope you'll appreciate the change of pace and enjoy the look!

Don't forget to enter the Eye Booster Instant Lash Extension Kit contest here. You could win the $5000 prize just for posting a video. Also, sign up for the giveaway so you, too, can try the Lash Extension Kit! Good luck and have fun experimenting!

Giorgio Armani Eye Tints Review, Photos, Swatches [Obsidian, Gold Ashes, Shadow, Émeraude, Cold Copper, Green Iron] + Complete Look

Giorgio Armani's lovely new Eye Tints ($38 USD each) were inspired by the Maestro foundation, blending smoothly for a "no makeup" feel. I have been testing them for a few weeks now, and it is positively one of my favorite 2015 beauty launches thus far. We are seeing the 'fluid' trend build even more momentum in both eye and lip departments, and the improving performance of the products make it clear the trend is not going away any time soon! I tend to wear a lot of highlighter shades and less impact color like purple or navy eyeshadow, so I was very excited to see the fun yet wearable shade lineup. All swatches and a complete eye look are after the jump!

REVIEW: Makeup Brush Guide + My Holy Grail Brushes by Chikuhodo, Wayne Goss, Hakuhodo, Tom Ford, and more

I can hardly believe it has been almost two years since my last favorite brushes video! I have garnered so much knowledge and experience since then, and my skin has been through hell and back, so my brush preferences are rather different. Since discovering the beauty of artisan brushes, I have not looked back. The craftsmanship and attention to detail oftentimes astound me, even if I've owned the brush for a year or two. Each brush is shaped by hand and the natural tips of the fibers are much finer, which ultimately lead to a much softer feel on the skin as opposed to laser-cut hairs. More details after the jump!

Tom Ford Lips&Boys Review, Photos, Swatches, and Comparisons

Tom Ford's Lips&Boys Lipsticks finally hit stores last month, and they have been selling like hot cakes! I have ten of the 50 "mini" color collection ($32 USD each) to share with you, and they are all individually unique and beautiful. These Lips&Boys boast 0.07 grams of product while the full-sized Lip Colors contain 1.0 grams. The quality is impressive and the colors are highly pigmented as expected. Check out the swatches after the jump!

Shu Uemura Spring 2015 Metallic Bouquet Collection Review & GIVEAWAY

Shu Uemura's new Spring 2015 Metal:ink liquid eyeliners are every winged liner aficionado's dream! The formula is ultra metallic yet smooth and pigmented, so only one or two layers are required for full color coverage! I love that the sponge tip applicator is firm yet just flexible enough to create sharp winged tips and precise lines without irritating my sensitive eyes.

Some of the colors are more bold when it comes to the shimmer content, like the gold and red. I especially love the red because it is so rare to see such a pure, true red in liquid eyeliner form. It makes a fabulous accent, especially when paired with black or even silver. If you love color and would rather experiment as opposed to playing it safe with brown, then try the red! The brown and the black have more of a metallic sheen, so they are more subtle and appropriate for day time wear. In my tutorial below, I paired the navy — one of my favorites — with the silver, which is slightly sheerer than the deeper 'definition' colors. Both, however, are truly lovely and are loaded with metallic sparkles that actually glide on! It's a very high tech upgrade from the older generation of metallic eyeliners that would flake or fade after a few hours (like Stila's). Please take a minute to admire the SWATCHES in the video!

Shu Uemura has offered a 15% off discount + free shipping, so take advantage of the coupon code RAEVIEW and start shopping here. Don't forget that you can also enter to win the entire Metal Bouquet Collection in their Contest now!

Best of 2014 | Top 14 Picks, Skin Care Edition

2014 was undoubtedly the most tumultuous skin care year of my life, but it taught me a lot about the resilience of our body's largest organ. As painful (aka miserable) as my cystic acne experience was, it was incredibly valuable and truly eye-opening. I am constantly working on reducing the minor scarring left behind, but at least I know first-hand what acne products actually do work! I hope my recommendations from my skin journey entry have given you a better idea of what to try first, but today, I wanted to focus on the Best Skin Care discoveries of 2014! Hope you enjoy the lineup and look forward to the makeup edition next week! xo

FAVORITES: December 2014 Beauty HITS & MISSES (Lipsticks, Foundation, Acne + Skin Care)

Welcome back, everyone! I hope you've all had a wonderful start to 2015. I am very much looking forward to this new year, but December was a long and memorable month. I leaned on excuses like stress and work, and as happy as my taste buds and tummy were, I was definitely paying for it with my poor health. I weighed in at 117 pounds and officially decided it was time to turn my life back around. I have been eating very healthy (no Christmas gorging) and trying to get exercise whenever possible. Unfortunately, I was very sick for nearly a week due to the insane bug that's going around, which derailed all my video plans, but I am back and feeling more motivated than ever! I experienced an adrenaline rush while filming, though sadly, I totally crashed with exhaustion after filming this episode. Still, I hope you enjoy the last Favorites episode of 2014 and hope you look forward to the Best of 2014 reviews! xo
