I continue to receive review requests for great budget buys, so I'm very excited to share the relatively new Coastal Scents Revealed Eyeshadow Palette with you! If you have lusting after the Urban Decay Naked 1 & 2 palettes ($52 each), then tune in because this review is dedicated to the most affordable 'dupe' I have found. Check out the swatches and enter to win after the jump!
I have experimented with a few Coastal Scents products before, and I especially like the 120 palette I own. The bulk palettes have been consistently popular over the years for their value, but now the brand is offering a more manageable, sleek palette with 20 neutral eyeshadows that are perfect for any occasion. And the best news is that the Revealed palette only costs $19.95!
The metallic eyeshadows are where Revealed excels. Above are swatches of the top row. The mattes feel silky and perform fairly well on the eyes, but an eyeshadow primer and a firmer flat shader brush are necessary for best results. My friend Karen put together some pretty eye looks if you wanted to see the palette in action!
The bottom row (including the matte black) is phenomenal, and the swatches speak for themselves. For highest color payoff, I recommend using clean fingertips to apply the colors, which will minimize fall out as well. Also worth nothing: Urban Decay's shimmers gleam a little more, but the glitter fall out with some of the Naked shadows can be intense. The Revealed shadows may not be perfect but they are as good as it get for the price, making the palette an undeniably worthwhile budget buy!
There is a Coastal Scents Revealed Palette Set, available through Birchbox, includes the palette as well as three Elite eyeshadow (including the doe foot featured here) brushes for $34 USD. Free shipping, too! If you'd rather purchase the palette solo, check it out here on the Coastal Scents website!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful palette! My everyday eye makeup is very simple. My go to products are the MAC Naked pigment, an inner corner and brow bone highlight and some lengthening mascara.
ReplyDeleteI rarely wear makeup since I go to school fairly early in the morning. But when I do wear makeup, it needs to be quick, and so for eye makeup I opt for Bare Minerals Perfect Storm, also using the taupe for my eyebrows, and then using a pencil eyeliner, smudged, for a finishing touch. Since I wear glasses, I choose not to wear mascara, or even curl my lashes, since my lashes tend to brush against my glasses, which is annoying.
ReplyDeleteMy everyday eyeshadow essential is Lorca pro.

ReplyDeleteand of course, black eyeliner... my HG as of now is Marc Jacobs Precision Pen
Lovely swatches! My everyday essentials are currently the Tarte Mattenificent Palette or the Smashbox full exposure pallet, combined with either a light lining of Tarte Skinny Smolder Eyes (in black or dark brown) or Revlon's Colorstay Eyeliner. Easy colors for everyday wear with enough options to change them based on my outfit/mood! Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteThese colors are amazing! My everyday essentials include a good primer and good set of brushes. I feel like if you have a great primer and brushes you can make any brand of eyeshadow pop and apply flawlessly. Currently I use Urban Decay's Primer Potion and Sigma E-60, E-30 and my eyes best Friend the E-40. Currently loving my the Balm Cosmetics Nude 'tude Palette.
ReplyDeleteI switch between a lot of eyeshadows, but I usually tend to stick with the same type of look. A dark outer corner and something light and bright in the center of the lid with black eyeliner. The palette that I have been reaching for a lot is the Paula's Choice matte palette
ReplyDeleteTo start it, i put Urban Decay Primer Potion all over my lid, i love to wear neutral colors for eyeshadow from The Balm Voyage palette, then line my eye using Clio brown pencil, and curl my lashes with Maybelline Rocket Volum mascara. Lastly i put the glittery silver eyeshadow from the same palette for my aegyosals, to make my eyes pop !

ReplyDeleteUsually abc gum or my face powder and a medium brown to deepen the crease
ReplyDeleteI typically use a Maybelline Color Tattoo for an all-over color.
ReplyDeleteMy everyday eyeshadow essentials are my very neutral wet n wild and covergirl palettes. I'm a mom of four on a budget and so its been drugstore brands for me for years! :)
ReplyDeleteMy UD Naked 2 palette is definitely the one i go to most for my everyday looks. =)
ReplyDeleteMy everyday hurry make up is only banana tone cream eyeshadow and quick dry liquid eyeliner since I have hooded eye too and I don't have time to fix if it transfer to my lid. Then I finish with coral lipstick. Done :D

ReplyDeleteMy everyday shadows are Hourglass Suede, MAC Grain Eyeshadow, or Urban Decay Naked Basics! TY for the giveaway!

ReplyDeleteMy everyday eyeshadow essentials are eye primer, Maybelline Color Tattoo, and a light shimmery eyeshadow, usually white, gold, or silver.
ReplyDeleteSometimes when I only have 5-7 mins to apply all my makeup, I just draw colorful eyeliner and smudge it then re-apply a thinner simple black liner. Then I wear glasses. Done. I don't use any shadow cause it takes too much more time than simple quick dry eyeliner
ReplyDeleteMy everyday look changes depending on my mood, what I'm wearing and my lip color. The look I do the most often is a smokey eye with gold/brown, usually from my Victoria's Secret palette (Heavenly). I love to wear that with a berry lip!
ReplyDeleteMy everyday eyeshadow essentials are from the Too Faced "Nice" collection - toasty caramels and sugary beiges.
ReplyDeleteCynthia.Richardson@azbar.org
This palette looks like such a good dupe. Would totally buy it if I didn't need to curb my spending habits lol...
ReplyDeleteMy everyday essentials for eyeshadow is Sephora's microsmooth baked eyeshadow trio in sunset. It's such an easy set of colors to pull off especially when I'm in a rush to get ready for work. :)
I really want this palette! I have been obsessing over it for a while lol I generally use Mary Kay eye shadows, because I used to be a consultant, but I am no longer doing that so I am starting to branch out to other brands!:)
ReplyDeleteThe only eyeshadow I need is MACs espresso.
ReplyDeleteThe Nars eyeshadow primer, and most days I'm in a hurry so a light sparkly pink to wake me up
